The Adult Education Service is positioned in the Skills, Employment & Adult Education team within the Council’s Regeneration and Economy Directorate. The strategic intent of the service is to maximise the employability of adults, so they can progress into work, further learning/training, or engage in voluntary, social and community activities.

The Service is seeking a tutor with relevant skills, knowledge and experience to design, plan, deliver and report on Business Administration & Customer Service programmes. The role will focus on the delivery of Business Administration & Customer Service Apprenticeships supporting current and new partnerships. Provision will be delivered during the daytime, evening and at weekends, throughout the year, to meet identified needs. You will also be required to support & deliver (non)accredited courses taught online and/or face-to-face in a range of community settings within the city.

Who are we looking for?

An experienced adult educator with relevant skills, knowledge and experience to design, plan, deliver and report on Business Administration programmes.

You will have up to date knowledge of curriculum practice and issues, and relevant teaching experience within a community-based adult education context in the specified subject area. You will need to demonstrate the ability to deliver an (in)formal, culturally competent, and inclusive curriculum to raise aspirations and make a difference to residents from diverse backgrounds within the city.

You will have experience of setting individual targets and evaluating learner progress and achievements through accredited and non-accredited provision. Your new company

Hays are working with a vibrant and welcoming school located in the heart of Coventry. This school is searching for a dedicated Year 2 teacher to join their team for two terms, from January to July. Please note, this position will not extend beyond this period as the current teacher will resume their duties in the new academic year.

Your new role

As a Year 2 teacher, you will undertake all teaching responsibilities akin to those of a permanent staff member. You will collaborate closely with other teachers in your Year 2 team for lesson planning. Responsibilities include attending staff meetings, participating in teacher training days, assisting in or leading end-of-year assemblies, and completing reports. You will be compensated according to your teaching scale point.

What you'll need to succeed

• Valid QTS and can referee your last teaching post
• You must be a confident and passionate teacher that loves teaching Year 2 or within Key Stage 1.
• You must be a good communicator, have good patience, be adaptable as well as creative.

What skills and experience we're looking for

You will be an experienced teacher with a passion for raising attainment. You will be required to teach your specialist subject to KS3 and KS4 alongside developing a learning environment and curriculum, that supports the drive for improved outcomes for all students.
