SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor and curriculum developer for the Air War College Preparatory Course, the Air Command and Staff College Preparatory Course, and the Squadron Officer School Preparatory Course.
DUTIES:
- ESL Instructor. Teaches Communication Skills lessons for International Military Students (IMS) attending graduate level USAF Professional Military Education (PME) and for IMS dependents attending the International Dependents English Course.
- ESL Curriculum Developer. Originates and develops ESL materials for IOS classes to meet the communicative requirements of IMSs having relatively little experience with American English, as well as those having relatively greater fluency in English and US Air Force terminology.
- Scholarship/Service. Uses ESL expertise to engage in scholarship by researching and implementing effective ESL teaching and learning strategies and technologies.
