We are looking for a Research Engineer (AI Red Teaming) to research and translate trust related topics, such as trustworthy AI and privacy-preserving technologies. The role is part of the Labs division, a part of our Business and Technology Group, which focuses on prototyping and experimenting emerging technologies that engenders trust and espouse the values of fairness, safety, and privacy in digital technologies.

What You Will Be Working On
- Conduct research and develop proof of concepts in trust technologies, such as trustworthy AI (e.g., AI red teaming on generative AI) and privacy-preserving technologies.
- Develop Proof-of-Concept tools and develop novel techniques to evaluate and assess safety of AI systems, including writing detailed technical documentation.
- Work closely with the product managers, data scientists and engineers to design and develop minimum viable products on trust-related products.
- Write thought leadership articles, including blogs and papers, on our research in trust technologies to educate and raise the overall competency in emerging areas of trust technologies. Engage in demonstrations, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions on trust technologies.
- Establish connections with global partners and researchers to stay updated on the latest trends, enhancing Singapore's influence in this domain, and representing IMDA at international research forums.
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in one of more of the following three areas:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) or trustworthy AI,
- Privacy preserving technologies,
- Cybersecurity.
- Experience in translating or commercializing emerging technologies.
- An excellent understanding of challenges and limitations in areas such as AI robustness, privacy, AI safety, and fairness.
- A passion for hands-on, innovative work, and the ability to rapidly prototype solutions for complex problems.
