The Primary Purpose of the Position is: Supervises a complexity index group 1 laboratory or in a complexity index group 2 laboratory that performs at least 1 million Standard Billable Tests annually (reported to the Laboratory Management Index Program) having one GS-11 subordinate to the supervisor.

Maintains database of all current Nursing Academic Affiliations and WOC trainees and collects and analyzes data for the purpose of preparing various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Serves as Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) for Nursing Education & Academia Service. Keeps a database record of all equipment and EIL annually. Incumbent completes missing equipment reports annually to reconcile the equipment. Keeps Nursing Education & Academia Service personnel informed of important computer related issues.

This position serves as a senior position in support of HPE training programs and compliance with Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA), regulatory, accreditation and other applicable requirements

• Perform a wide range of programmatic and operational functions for the HPE Office.

The Social Worker is assigned to the West Texas VA Health Care System Patient Aligned Care Team. The Social Worker must use a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of veterans. Social Work responsibilities include the assessment of psychosocial problems, often at a time when the Veteran is experiencing crisis and include the provision of short-term, solution- focused counseling with veterans and/or their family members/significant others. Referrals typically originate from members of the interdisciplinary team, from Veterans and/or their family members/significant others coming as walk-ins to seek assistance, and from community professionals.

The Social Worker is responsible for the monitoring of, and assisting with discharge planning when necessary for, Veterans assigned to the PACT Team while Veterans are hospitalized in any number of local medical facilities. The Social Worker must complete thorough assessments to determine the presenting problem to determine in- home factors impacting the problem and to determine obstacles to treatment and/or follow through with recommended treatments. Consultation with members of the outpatient interdisciplinary team is provided to coordinate a collaborative effort to meet the agreed upon goals for the Veteran's treatment needs and include liaison with community professionals regarding needed services for veterans and/or their families.

Works with various patient populations that include, but are not limited to, homeless Veterans, Hospice/Palliative Care, Homebound, and Spinal Cord Injury and Disease Veterans.
