The successful applicant will be working with international neuromuscular expert physiotherapists and physicians within the Clinical Neuromuscular Physiotherapy Team at GOSH to ensure best clinical care and research practice and will furthermore collaborate closely with the ICH Neuromuscular Research Team and the Clinical Research Facility Team. It will involve completion of clinical trial protocols and specific projects, including development and validation of functional scales and other novel outcome measures as well as analysis of the e.g. SMA natural history data. The post-holder will have opportunity to work within the national SMA network to promote teaching and implementation of standard of care in SMA as well as facilitating robust and meaningful data collection. The post holder will have the opportunity to explore their own project/case-load and to provide cross-cover or support to fellow research physiotherapists. There will be opportunity to both attend and present their work at national and international conferences, for which a support will be provided. The post holder will be an active participant in the Physiotherapy Service at GOSH and will collaborate with the clinical Neuromuscular Physiotherapy Team. The post holder must hold a UK recognised Degree or equivalent qualification in physiotherapy and possess current Health & Care Professions Council registration. It is also essential that the postholder has previous experience in Paediatric Physiotherapy and has some knowledge of paediatric neuromuscular conditions. The postholder must have the ability to work as part of both a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team and have good listening and communication skills across the age range.

To ensure that office finance and information systems are accurately and contemporaneously maintained, quality assuring data working with a high attention to detail and innovatively to ensure optimum efficiency. Key member of the education and learning team with specific responsibility for the administration and co-ordination of all CPD activities within the Trust. General administration To update relevant systems to reflect completed competencies from eLearning completion. The post holder will work closely with the principal investigator, clinical and research teams to co-ordinate and deliver research within the Paediatric Clinical Trials unit, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital. The post holder will deliver a high standard of clinical care and be able to work as an independent autonomous practitioner. Research specific duties, include: To be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering research trial within the Paediatric Clinical Trials unit, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. Undertake the screening, identification and recruitment of eligible participants to relevant trials according to trial protocol and organisation SOPs. Provide relevant information to prospective participants and taking of informed consent (and assent where appropriate). Deliver a high standard of clinical care, while adhering to research protocol, for all patients eligible for and recruited to clinical trials. Adhere to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Manage the clinical trial documentation including maintenance of site file(s). Provide orthoptic support, where necessary, to clinical trials within Moorfields Clinical Research Facility. Act as research contact regarding paediatric clinical trials for both patients and the wider clinical team. Maintain good and open communication with the clinical team to facilitate the identification and recruitment of potentially eligible participants. Maintain accurate and detailed record keeping in format adhering to trial protocol and local SOPs. Present research findings at relevant scientific meetings. Provide orthoptic input to the development of protocols and grant applications. Network with other researchers and build collaboration. Facilitate effective communication or research study information with all relevant research team. Have a high level of computer literacy and basic programming. Support orthoptists and other members of the clinical team in their roles in clinical research studies. Support and encouraging engagement with clinical research.
