JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to accomplish maintenance on electronically controlled powered support equipment containing highly complex digital devices and integrated circuits.

The major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the accurate interpretation of numerous manufacturer drawings, specifications, operating instructions, and test procedures, to troubleshoot, calibrate, align and repair a variety of highly complex pieces of powered support equipment.
• Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing, repair, and adjustments on complex rotary diesel engines.
• Must independently determine work sequences, specifications, and special procedures to be used to fault-isolate and repair unusual problems in various pieces of powered support equipment.
• Performs intermediate-level maintenance on powered support equipment and nonpowered AGE.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, modifies and operates aerospace ground equipment such as AC and DC power generators, various types of internal combustion engines, air compressors, blowers, hydraulic test stands, cabin leakage testers, portable diesel engine driven generators, emergency lighting units, de-icers, heaters, load banks, hydrostatic testers, cryogenic carts, decontamination units, thermal bath, vacuum pumps, flow meters, lavatory service trailers, air conditioners and various pieces of non-powered AGE.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors and outdoors, in inclement weather, on icy, wet and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands, and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to the dangers from toxic fumes, oil, heat, fluids, shock, high noise level, possible cuts, abrasions and burns, extremely low temperature cryogenic liquids and extremely high air pressures.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort involves stooping, bending, stretching, standing, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Requires moderate to strenuous physical exertion including pushing and shoving of wheeled AGE. Lifts heavy equipment and components weighing up to 90 pounds.

Your new role

• Providing a proficient, effective and timely SEN casework related support function as part of the SEN Strategic and Casework team to support a specialised service related to pupils with SEN.
• To ensure that support functions are administered within priorities set out by the SEN Casework Manager.
• To work closely with the SEN Strategic Casework team to plan, develop, implement and maintain robust administrative processes to support the functions of the service.
• Provide high quality and proactive general business and organisational support to the SEN Strategic and Casework Team, including diary management, word processing, filing, photocopying, handling post, preparing routine and non-routine correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and other documents using ICT based systems, etc as required.
• In particular, ensure tasks are dealt with according to plans and arrangements put in place by SEN Casework Managers, the SEN Statutory and Strategic Process Manager to enable timely responses to work associated with:
  • Assessment and preparing EHCPs
  • Annual reviews by schools, settings, colleges and the Local Authority

  • Complaints, FOI and SAR requests
  • Phase transition processes
  • Pupils transferring between other LAs
  • School funding team requirements
  • Customer care response time standards.
• Organise, administer and attend a range of meetings and specialist panels as required. To include preparing and circulating minutes, agendas and documents, taking minutes, recording and communicating decisions.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience in Administration, knowledge of GDPR and be able to handle day to day tasks with confidentiality. You will need to be IT Literate and have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The successful candidate must have a current DBS on the update system as you will be handling sensitive information related to pupils with SEN. Experience working within Education would be beneficial but is not essential.

This role is a 6-month Temp Maternity Cover but has the potential to be extended. A permanent offer at the end could be a possibility. The position will predominantly be working remotely, with the occasional day in the office when needed. Working hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday. 21 days annual leave entitlement + bank holidays.

Support the registered practitioners in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Under the direction of a registered practitioner, undertake a range of delegated clinical peri-operative duties including record keeping, patient observations and specimen handling. Assist the theatre practitioners in the checking of sterilised equipment, ensuring related paperwork is in order and completed correctly. Communicate with peri-operative team, patients and their carers in a professional and compassionate manner. To escalate any concerns about a patient to the relevant practitioner immediately. Assist patients when necessary whilst ensuring the dignity of the patient is maintained at all times, e.g. undressing, chaperoning, emotional and physical support overcoming barriers to communication as necessary. Acting as a positive role model for peers, supporting other HCAs as required. Maintain professionalism at all times and respect colleagues. Careful moving and handling of equipment, wheelchairs and trolleys
