We are supporting a special educational needs school, NAS accredited with an Ofsted rated 'Good' that caters for academically able autistic students with associated difficulties, including ADHD and complex needs. The majority of students will have either of Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Their dedicated staff are committed to creating a learning culture that enables the best possible outcomes for their pupils.

We have been asked to look for an individual to support with the delivery of agreed learning activities and support pupil learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individual pupils as directed. As an LSA you will be required to contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school.

Specific Duties Include:

• Working as directed by the Classroom Teachers and Senior Leadership Team.
• Understand how a pupil's learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and understand the stages of child development.
• Make effective and efficient use of ICT for classroom and management support.

About the Role:

We are looking for patient and caring individuals to join a dedicated team at this adult day centre that provides essential support to autistic learners aged 18 and over. As a Learning Support Worker, you will:

• Work individually and in small groups to support the development of knowledge and skills that enhance learners' well-being, independence, and social inclusion.
• Use behaviour-driven teaching strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and development.
• Work both within our Centre for Lifelong Learning and accompany our learners in the community, applying their learning to real-world situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive support, care, and teaching to autistic adult learners.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities that support knowledge and skill development.
• Offer behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that negatively impact the quality of life.
• Provide personal care, encouraging and enabling adult learners to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene, including toileting, dressing, and washing.

The majority of students will have either of Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
