As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for working on state of the art refurbishment and fit out projects primarily across restaurants, bars and hotels. Typical project values range from £50k- - £4m.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• To be involved in negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedure
• To quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring the company gets value for money on all jobs carried out.
• To build strong relationships with our customers to ensure open communication and expectations of invoicing is met at all times.
• To prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports. To manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures. Includes obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, valuing subcontract works and payments and agreeing subcontract final accounts.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Relevant Degree or Qualifications
• Experience of managing multiple projects.
• Proven experience of developing client relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills.

Due to several new contract wins, my client who are a UK leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with an approx turnover of £1.4bn are looking for an experienced site based Quantity Surveyor. to join their team.

The role of an Quantity Surveyor

You will play an essential part of the commercial team reporting directly to the Senior Project Surveyor working on a high profile £175m residential block consisting of over 650 apartments. As Quantity Surveyor you will play a vital role in supporting both pre-construction and post-construction stages, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and meeting client expectations.

Duties of an Quantity Surveyor

* Collaborate with the Senior Project Surveyor and project teams to provide professional and cost-effective advice, contributing to the successful completion of projects.
* Support in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, cost estimates, and cost plans.
* Assist in conducting feasibility studies and site visits to gather crucial data for accurate cost estimates.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective cost control and value engineering throughout projects.
* Undertake accurate measurements, quantities, and valuations of work completed, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, valuations, and final accounts.
* Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices, actively participating in continuing professional development opportunities.

• An exceptional track record in the construction industry, with commercial experience of pre and post contract Quantity Surveying.
• Experience of construction and commercial Project Management in new developments, redevelopments, maintenance, and other forms construction to include CDM Regulations, and Health & Safety.
• Experience of working with the Social Housing sector, either directly or with a supplier, covering Asset Management, Construction, and Technical Services.
• Experience of writing and working with Complex Building Specifications & Pricing Models, as well as technical specification development, legal & contractual documentation, and construction service contracts.
• Experience of Property Maintenance, Decent Homes, and Property Defects & Remediation.

• Experience of managing procurement projects for construction or asset management.
• Experience of the legal regulatory framework around housing maintenance.
• Detailed experience of residential development in the affordable housing sector.
• Preparing and delivering business plans and projects in pre-construction.
• A relevant subject matter degree, HNC, or certification(s), and/or certification in a related discipline such CIOB, RICS, CIAT.
