Chartered Surveyor – Role Overview

District Valuer Services (DVS) provides professional property services across the public sector, including to private and third sector clients in delivering public services and functions of a public nature. Our clients include the Central, Local and Devolved Government, Health and Transport.

This role sits within the Transport Sector, where we work with major infrastructure providers including National Highways, Transport Scotland, Welsh Assembly Government and HS2. We deal with all aspects of compulsory purchase and compensation, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver infrastructure projects from early stage design to the final settlement of compensation.

An outline of your responsibilities and experience

General labouring on site, including plot cleans, taking delivery of materials, and securing them with fencing.

* Full clean UK driving licence.
* Ideally 2 years gardening experience (but will accept less if you are the right candidate)

Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to solicitors and fee earners, including opening files on Proclaim
• Conduct Solicitors Regulation Authority checks and client ID/money laundering checks
• Correspond with clients and law firms via email, letter, telephone, and face-to-face
• Order property searches and produce/amend legal documents
• Apply to the Land Registry for registration post-completion
• Schedule and forward completed documents to clients
• Close and archive files, update systems, and handle outstanding balances
• Address requisitions from HM Land Registry
• Pursue initial client documentation and update cases using LMS and Lender Exchange systems
• Prepare bills, completion statements, and liaise with Accounts for completions
• Manage abatement and re-issuance of bills

About the role

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Estate Assistant to join our Estates team working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 08:00am to 4:00pm. You will be responsible for providing high quality grounds and garden services to our schemes based in and around Southend.

Reporting into the Estates Services Officer you will be responsible for providing high quality general maintenance services to our schemes. We are looking for someone who has good customer service skills as you will be interacting with our customers and colleagues. The work can sometimes be quite physically demanding. You will also be able to demonstrate the following essential skills:
* Proven professional experience of delivering grounds maintenance across a variety of sites and garden types
* Experience and knowledge of lawn, shrub, and plant care
* Proven experience of achieving high levels of customer satisfactionn
* Ability to carry out physical tasks within Health and Safety guidelines
