SSEN are looking to hire an LV/HV Electrical Lead Construction Fitter to be based in any location in our Southern region.

The key responsibilities will include:

- Working in a team responsible for constructing electrical apparatus within substations on the electricity distribution network from 11kV up to 132kV.

- Safe delivery of construction projects in live electricity substation environments in line with operational safety rules and safety legislation. This will also include emergency response to fault scenarios.

- Installation of fixed relays onto existing relay panels. Installation and commissioning of CT Metering apparatus.

- Act as an ambassador for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks when interacting with external and internal customers to deliver world class customer service and protect the SSE brand.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Knowledge of the electricity distribution network and experience of working in live electricity substation environments from 11kV - 132kV.

- Previous experience will include working on DC battery systems, internal panel wiring modification, multicore cable terminating and glanding, wiring circuit breakers, CT's/VT's to marshalling kiosks and control panels, AC/DC wiring and replacing 33kV outdoor circuit breakers and isolators. The ability to read and interpret single line wiring diagrams and cable ferruling.

- A high regard for safety, especially construction sites and CDM regulations with strong customer service skills.

- Previous electricity network operational authorisations would be extremely beneficial as would training and qualifications in scaffold, telehandler, furzeweld, working at height, confined space, asbestos, COSHH, Loler and SMSTS.

- A clean driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must because the role will involve extensive travel throughout our network area.

• Inspect and assess any repair requests and defects where an immediate repair may not be appropriate, and technical advice is required to identify and advise on appropriate solutions.

Your Skills and Experience

• Be capable of taking ownership for technical design and delivery of substation automation, telecommunication, and related services from inception to completion, adhering to the process, policies, and standards.

Further to the technical requirements, you will be safety focussed with excellent written and verbal communication skills; you should be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Paralegal/Lawyer with a passion for property law? As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team with the delivery of property consents and agreements. Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating property contracts, transfers, leases and easements to ensure that the property requirements of the businesses are satisfied.

- Ensuring all post completion activities including registration and stamp duty land tax forms are fully completed and registered with the appropriate authorities.

- Managing the financial and document management aspects of property transactions.

- Delivering the legal work, understanding when additional input is required from Solicitor or Line Manager.

- Assisting Solicitors and Line Manager in the delivery of the Business Units strategic projects along with attending internal and external meetings in relation to the legal work.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience and expertise in conducting a large volume of property transactions.

- A methodical and organised approach to work.

- An enthusiastic and self motivated approach, and able to work well in a team.

Our Land Consents Managers are a pivotal resource for the successful delivery of our project portfolio in order to support a net carbon zero future across our electricity distribution network. In this role you'll be in charge of securing, maintaining and managing land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines and ground mounted plant on both public and privately-owned land.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include:

- Managing a busy work bank of mixed tasks including, but not limited to, complaints, claims/compensation, connections, estate appraisals, access permission, purchases, leases and more.

- Managing preparation, negotiation and successful acquisition of wayleaves, easements, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions.

- Assessing, negotiating and successful settlement of compensation claims.

- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

- Experience of a busy self contained work bank

- Experience securing both voluntary and statutory consents for capital projects.

- Experience of working with key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities and national agencies.

- Knowledge of relevant consents and environmental legislation.

- A full, current driving licence.
