The role

As an Quantity Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is your opportunity to become part of a leading nuclear services company, and to support complex UK defence projects. Playing a critical role in ensuring that our projects are completed successfully, on time, and within budget, all whilst collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing best practices.

Day to day, you'll secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes, as well as managing projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

• Provision of a pro-active cost engineering service to bids and projects in accordance with procedures and systems.
• Monitor and control of commitments and accruals in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Support the production of project detailed cost reports as per project categorisation criteria and requirements.
• Monitor and control of change.
• Support the Cost Engineer in the production and analysis of cost/sale performance.
• Contribute to the identification of project risks and the quantification of financial impact.
• Set up, maintenance and control of the cost capture structure in finance system.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 - 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 - 4 days working from home.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Quantity Surveyor:

• Experienced in cost estimation or cost engineering
• Sound knowledge of recognised project management and controls principles including Earned Value Management
• Good knowledge of the uses of commercial scheduling and estimating software
• Stakeholder engagement
• NEC Contract Experience

Qualifications for the Quantity Surveyor:

• University degree or equivalent

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

Qualifications and Experience

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it or equivalent

The Role

Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the contract managers, you will be responsible for pricing, managing and delivering a range of small to medium-sized fitouts for a range of large corporate entities across the UK.' Communicating closely with the clients' property team, you will be responsible for commercially delivering these projects ensuring our clients commercial position is protected and enchanced. A key part of this role is the assertive management of key relationships while maintaining a positive working relationship with the client.


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in quantity surveying and have significant experience of working in a fast-paced construction environment dealing with multiple smaller projects concurrently. You will be highly organised and commercially savvy and understand how to influence people effectively. You will have a solid understanding of construction and fitout and enjoy the commercial cut and thrust of making money in an environment such as this. There is a great opportunity here for someone to come in and step into a commercial management role over time.

We are currently seeking a Building Surveyor, providing technical and professional support to the property and large loss adjusting teams. You will play a key role in offering advice and guidance on complex building issues that arise from client losses.

This will involve tasks such as providing technical advice, writing reports, capturing specifications and scopes, preparing tender documentation, managing procurement, and overseeing contract administration. - Being a building construction technical referral point for the CCA team, including confirming and validation repair costs.

- Provide support to our adjusters – assistance with scope reviews, structural engineers report reviews/ queries, loss assessor scopes, tenders, joint site visits, project management.

We have an exciting opportunity for a People Administrator to support our Care at Home businesses based around Scotland and in Shrewsbury.
