We’re recruiting for a qualified experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Justice & Immigration (J&I) FM contract.

You will play a key role in the management, development and delivery of delivery of lifecycle modelling and asset replacement programmes across the J&I estate by managing all aspects of FM pricing / cost modelling.

As part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) you will report directly to Head of Surveying and will work closely with the F&M Asset management, Projects and Mobilisation, Transition and Transformation (MTT) Team.

It is imperative you have the relevant quantity surveyor qualifications alongside the required technical knowledge, competence and understanding of building construction, fabric and building engineering services.
Your comprehensible commercial awareness and excellent detailed knowledge of past and present building surveying, processes and principles will ensure you can deliver on accountabilities such as:


- Advise on lifecycle/dilapidation projects and determine/manage business/financial requirements aligned to the Risk.
- Develop, organise and manage comprehensive pricing documentation for competitive tender activities including preparing PTE’s and BQ’s.
- Support procurement colleagues with management of tender RFI’s, supplier clarifications and tender adjudication activities.
- Support J&I FM Bid team with new bids and re-bid opportunities.
- Undertake risk, value management and cost control during post contract, practical delivery and final account stages of projects.
- Champion working towards gaining ISO 19650 for Building Information Modelling (BIM) including the creation and development of digital modelling of the existing J & I Estate.


What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you will hold the relevant quantity surveying and/or equivalent industry qualifications and hold recognised professional body accreditation or working towards (RICS, CIPS, CIOB or equivalent).

As with any skilled role at this level, you will have sound technical knowledge, competence and understanding of building construction, fabric and building engineering services. Proficient in the use and application of SPONS, NSR for estimating, tendering.

Excellent understanding of CDM Regulations and can demonstrate ability to apply its principles to coordinate/advise Client, PD and PC duties.

You will enjoy working as part of a team, using influencing skills to negotiate and resilience and determination to succeed in a fast paced high pressure environment.

Finally, flexibility is a must
- this is a mobile role covering locations nationally across the UK therefore must have a flexible approach to travel to/from sites and be prepared to stay away from home, potentially this could be up to 2-3 nights a week.

About the roleAs our Assistant Construction Project Manager, you will be part of the CTO (Central Technical Organisation) and will join a multi-skilled Construction team to deliver on origination, development, construction and operation of renewables projects.The role will be to assist the Project Manager in the delivery of specified Construction projects from our EDF Renewables portfolio. The role will also support the development team and involve working on the Front End Engineering and Design process. This role will involve assistance in preparation of all work scopes, tendering, negotiation and subsequent project management and successful delivery of all related construction contracts through to successful handover of the facility to the Asset Operations Team.

Implementing EDF Renewables Health and Safety policy and carry out regular checks and balances to ensure that it has been correctly applied in all the aspects of the construction project activities.

- Assisting the Business Development departments to successfully achieve Financial Investment Decision on pipeline projects and acquisitions
- Supporting the client information aspects of the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) process
- Assisting in the development of the construction budget and develop the delivery programme for the projects
- Assisting the development of construction cost estimates, resource schedules and construction programmes
- Working closely with internal engineering team members to accurately assess project DC capacities, electrical connection options and yield throughout the various stages of project
- Working with the team to Project Manage the construction phase of projects & develop the procurement and delivery strategy for the projects keeping up to date with market intelligence relating to Solar PV


What do you need to be great at this role?

- Appropriate Degree or equivalent industry standard qualification – ideally in Engineering (Civil, mechanical or electrical
- Demonstratable experience of construction management skills, working on construction projects, particularly Solar PV
- Experience of Construction Project Management
- Understanding and experience of delivering good health and safety practice
- Experience of working in a project team effectively to deliver the project goals and objectives
- Genuine interest in renewable energy

As a Quality Control Manager, you will ensure the project is built within contract document specifications, owner requirements, and comply with local, state, and federal building codes. You will coordinate with other trades, process daily reports of project progress and adhere to all guidelines issued by the owner. As a strong communicator, you will help to build a quality control team that is open, transparent, and delivers excellence.  

 

Responsibilities

• Partner with the project team to understand, plan, and implement the contract drawings and specifications

• Collaborate  with the owner, design team, and contractors to ensure quality and timeliness of project construction and completion

• Implement and manage the “Three Phases of Control” Quality Control Plan

• Oversee submittal review and approval

• Schedule and conduct quality control meetings - Preparatory, Initial Phase, Follow-up

• Control documents related to quality control functions

• Establish testing procedures in accordance with contract specifications

• Manage inspections process

• Coordinate third party testing agents and interface with the Owner’s representatives as required

• Closely track and maintain a project deficiency log

• Manage the punch list process

• Oversee project closeout deliverable process-training, O&Ms

• Confer directly with the executive management team

• Encourage, lead, and/or participate in staff training and development

• Proactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right work

• Take an active role in recruiting top industry talent to join the Clark team. Identify, hire, and retain outstanding people

 Basic Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a construction or related discipline or relevant experience

• Minimum 5-8+ years verifiable construction quality control and/or inspection experience

The Head of Property Acquisition is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day operation of all aspects relating to property onboarding across the Midlands and East of England, including liaising with landlords, housing associations and local authorities; procuring property across the portfolio, ensuring all properties are brought into the portfolio meeting the required standards and are according to the terms of the lease; ensuring all properties onboarded meet the required licensing and certification requirements; and in line with the rental perimeters set by the contract.

This is a critical role for our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contracts (AASC), providing clear overall ownership for property management across the contract regions. The role will provide accountability at a level below the Operations Director, providing leadership and strategic direction to the Property Acquisition teams and working with other members of the Senior leadership team to deliver outstanding and effective service.

The successful candidate will also:


- Take full responsibility for the delivery of the property elements of the contract
- Management and leadership of a multi-functional team to deliver a high quality, compliant service
- Work closely and collaboratively with other senior leaders to deliver all aspects of the contractual service
- Management and leadership of a team of property acquisition specialists to ensure that the property portfolio is managed at the right volume to meet the demand of the service
- Ensure all accommodation is procured to standards required by the contract, legislation, and the relevant Local Authority, including working with relevant SMT members to ensure best use of trade specialists, suppliers and sub-contractors where required
- Develop strong relationships with landlords, housing associations and local authorities to ensure a strong pipeline of properties
- Conduct review meetings with Landlords/Agents
- Manage the administration and quality audits for all procurement processes, including agree rentals, lease, certifications, condition reports and floor plans etc.



What you'll need to do the role:


- Experienced property professional with a successful track record in change management
- Background in developing relationships with Housing Associations, Private Investment Markets for residential portfolios and building strategic relationships with the Private Residential Property lettings markets
- Understanding of facilities management, building surveying, property estates management and finance and procurement
- Strong financial management skills, with experience of managing budgets of at least £1m
- Property health and safety background
- Operational management of large property portfolios
- Good knowledge required of local authority regulations and national legislation relating to housing and property management
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a people management role
- Experience of managing at a senior level, in public or private sector
- Excellent people management skills, with evidence of engaging staff and improving/driving team performance


Finally, you must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the contract with regular visits to customers and suppliers and occasional travel within the UK.

Ship’s Master/Draft Surveyor
The main responsibilities of this position include coordinating ship’s berthing and loading, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on conditions of ships and goods and ensuring all marine standards are upheld and adhered to. The other specific duties will include:
• Controlling, overseeing and coordinating ship’s berthing and loading operation, organising ship’s shifting requirements where required.
• Supervision of vessel operations to ensure safe and efficient operations and reporting any unsafe operations and / or damage
• Optimising vessel operations to ensure the secure and efficient loading and transport of cargo
• Draft surveys including intermediate and final surveys, plus trimming of vessel, load plan preparation and loading to designated critical criteria.
• Additional surveys including on hire condition, bunker, P&I surveys
• Establishing, checking and maintaining the Load Plans to ensure outcomes within pre-designated criteria including safety such as DUKC requirements and cargo criteria
• Review and reporting on operations after loading completed and provide suggestions on ways to improve the process
Ships Engineer/Marine Engineer
The main responsibilities of this position include providing technical leadership in relation to the design, construction and maintenance of marine vessels and their component parts. You well be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ship’s propulsion and domestic plant and equipment. You will be expected to research, develop, maintain, and repair components of the marine vessels. Other specific duties include:
• Inspecting and developing marine construction and evaluating metrics such as stability, weight, and hydrostatics.
• Create blueprints and design engines and marine systems.
• Conducting inspections and surveys and record specifications to ensure marine plant and equipment is operating
• effectively and ensuring all standards are met.
• Documenting requirements, instructions, material specifications, and troubleshooting guides.
• Monitor logs, data, and user feedback to identify trends and improve designs.
• Planning and coordinate the operational and maintenance requirements the vessel
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The following is required:
• Master Mariner Unlimited Licence or Marine Chief Engineer qualification (Licensing Class I Master Mariners or Class I
• Marine Engineers – Certificate of Competency recognized by IMO STCW Convention)
• Relevant AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree or overseas equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role
• At least 2 years’ seagoing experience sailing on dry bulk carriers and/or minimum 2 years’ experience undertaking draft surveys, hold cleanliness inspections, bunker surveys and on/off hire condition surveys
• Experience sailing onboard Bulk Carriers & Container Vessels
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to solve problems and assess risks.
