Your new role
As an Estates Surveyor Team Leader, you will be an integral part of a team managing a diverse property portfolio which includes both operational and commercial properties with a range of occupiers including both corporate tenants and local traders. You'll lead a small team, whilst contributing to property management and professional activities including landlord & tenant negotiations.
You will also:

• Undertake line management duties, including appraisals, performance, and personal development training.
• Provide appropriate leadership support to a graduate surveyor to enable them to work towards achieving membership of RICS.
• Carry out day-to-day commercial property management duties.
• Become a strategic partner, playing a lead role in development of strategies to meet service and corporate priorities.

What you'll need to succeed
If you have a passion for property, an eye for detail and a drive and motivation to improve the environment, then this could be a fantastic next step for you - there is no requirement to have worked for a local authority previously or within the public sector before. You will need to hold a degree or equivalent qualification within a property related area, and ideally you will be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. An ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver excellent levels of customer service will be important.

We are working with a Tier 1 national contractor on an new major scheme near Oxford and they are in need of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the team and oversee the scheme.

The project is a £30 million new build school bid, won and procured from the DFE framework.

The scheme is due to start in the late Summer 2024 so there is an opportunity join now and start procurement of the major packages and set the scheme up at really early stages before prestart and then you will be running the scheme from a commercial perspective.

The role will be to work with the design and delivery teams to ensure the scheme is delivered on time and to budget to a client that has potentially 2 or 3 more schemes to follow on in a negotiated format should this be a success. You will be looking after a project Qs and an Assistant Qs on site and have overview and responsibility for the commercial health of the projects including managing sub contract packages, procurement of materials and plant, remeasure, valuations, payments, managing variation accounts, forecasting, CVR's etc.

We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a newly secured project in Harwell for a national Tier 1 contractor.

They work in the education, local authority, health care, commercial/industrial and leisure marketplaces and a majority of the work is won through frameworks such as SCF, Pagabo, DFE and strategic partnerships with local authorities and large independent government bodies. All the work is either framework, negotiated or 2 stage bids. The initial scheme is a new build life sciences scheme in Harwell for £35 million which has been negotiated initially on a framework agreement and is just finishing a detailed 2nd stage build up and is due on site beginning of 2024.

You will work closely with the Bid and Estimating teams alongside the PM on preconstruction and bid work before taking schemes onto site. Once on site you will be responsible for procuring packages, overseeing the management of subcontractors, and set up the procedures for payments, valuations, remeasures, subcontractor engagement and pre-start meetings, chair client meetings, manage the variation account, manage CVR's and other internal reporting metrics all the way through to final account.

You will have full commercial reporting authority for the scheme and we will be responsible for forecasting and the financial health of the scheme and you will report into a visiting commercial manager and have the full support and backing of a national contractor.
