An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within North Lanarkshire Council’s Development and Disposals team to support the delivery of our Ambition Plan to create modern, vibrant communities where people live, learn, work, invest and visit. To enable our ambition, the Development and Disposals team works with Services across the Council on the delivery of large scale projects such as the housing purchase scheme, hub development programme, housing development, town centre regeneration and City Deal.
Based at the Civic Centre, Motherwell you will be a senior lead within the team responsible for the provision of a co-ordinated property service which implements property disposals and acquisitions whist identifying, creating, and promoting strategic development opportunities across North Lanarkshire.
An excellent and confident communicator, you will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a property related subject. You will have longstanding memberships with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme. Suitable candidates will have substantial experience in the valuation of commercial land and property, marketing and negotiation for the sale and acquisition of land and property together with a working knowledge of Planning and extensive experience of development appraisals.
The successful applicant will lead on the more technical and complex cases dealt with by the Development and Disposals team. You will supervise and coordinate the work of the Technicians within the team and be involved in the mentoring of staff. Accordingly, should have previous supervisory experience. You will be self-motivated and confident, have excellent IT and interpersonal skills and be able to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team in line with performance standards and deadlines. Familiarity with Procurement would be advantageous as would familiarity with property management systems.
The ability to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council is essential.
Work Pattern:
Monday to Thursday - 08:45am to 16:45pm
Friday - 08:45am to 16:15pm
