An outline of your responsibility – Contract Liaison Officers

Responsible for supporting site or contract with liaison between customers, clients and wider community
Delivering and managing Social Value and an excellent Customers Service are key parts of the overall service Novus provide to our clients, with a passion to go the ‘extra mile’
Lead on delivering all added value contractual commitments including planning and diarising community, skills and employment initiatives, keeping ​these in line with the Social Value Act
Dealing with enquiries/issues relating to varying works delivered by our site teams and sub-contractors. You will act as the ‘voice and face’ at a contract and site level, demonstrating experience of delivering social value and a customer focused service in what can be a demanding public facing environment
Establish an effective communications system to keep all the site team informed whilst maintaining good relationships with the customers and Novus team
Coordinate the distribution of information regarding upcoming works and maintain information on current works and contractual commitments
Carry out site visits with client and customers
Dealing with complaints and resolving concerns in a positive manner
Initiate/generate technical instructions, site notes and other site observations
Identify possible case studies showing excellent Customer Service and Social Value impact to clients and for use in tendering new contracts
Manage any reporting required for the Contracts
Promote all good news stories and all initiatives with Marketing, ensuring we capture the good work we do
About you

Working as a Contract Liaison Officer with previous experience working with Tenants in a Social Housing environment is key along with communication experience and confident presentation skills, the role will be working on Internal planned works such as Kitchen and Bathroom refits. Your ability to be proficient in IT and administration is also essential to fulfil and develop the role. Flexibility is essential with regards to hours and travel. The role requires you to hold a Full UK Driving Licence and for a DBS check to be completed

Job Responsibilities:

· Support continuous improvement efforts in daily operation and operations activities.

1.Role Purpose

Mechanical Superintendent reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for coordinating with yard construction team, resolving any field-related issues, and ensuring that all mechanical work is executed efficiently and in compliance with project specifications and industry regulations. This includes ensuring the adherence to project schedules, overseeing engineering processes, managing material control, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

2. Duties & Responsibilities

1) Project Oversight and Management:

• Oversee all mechanical construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project manager, engineers, and other department Superintendents to ensure seamless project execution.

2) Scheduling and Planning:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical construction activities.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks in alignment with the project timeline.

3) Technical Supervision:

• Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
• Review and approve engineering documents, specifications, and plans.

4) Material Control:

• Manage the procurement, storage, and allocation of materials required for mechanical construction.
• Ensure material quality and availability to prevent project delays.

5) Quality Assurance and Control:

• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.

6) Safety Management:

• Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring all activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for the construction team.

7) Issue Resolution:

• Identify and resolve any technical or logistical issues that arise during construction.
• Collaborate with relevant parties to address and mitigate project risks.

8) Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor the mechanical construction team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Evaluate team performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

3. JOB REQUIREMENTS

• The degree of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in mechanical construction in Process, Chemical, Power Plant Projects.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in high-pressure environments.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and construction practices in the Oil and Gas sector.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing construction teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and mitigate risks effectively.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes specific to the Oil and Gas industry.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, Navisworks).

A fantastic opportunity to play a major role in the on-the-ground work needed to provide the best conditions we can for the spectacular wildlife, such as breeding waders, seabirds and hen harriers, that call our Orkney reserves their home. We also want our reserves to be great places where people can have great natural experiences, and you will be helping to look after our hides and trails.
We are looking for someone who understands and enjoys using machinery and using their practical skills to keep reserve structures in good condition. Someone with real commitment and enthusiasm who understands and embraces the practicalities of land management.
The work will involve keeping the habitat in good condition by cutting back vegetation with a range of tools and machinery, and you'll also be helping keep our reserves stock proof, by building and maintaining fences. We recently bought a Soucy Track tractor, and much of your work will involve using this to top our wetter fields and improve them for breeding waders; this will be a great chance to become familiar with some specialist machinery. There will be plenty of variety in the work, with the opportunity to be involved in livestock counts, herbicide work, hide maintenance, installing signs, peatland restoration work (removing scrub and installing dams and geotextile matting), improving our meadows with green hay and wildflower seeds, maintaining trails, and also working with our local volunteer teams.
You will lead on and be responsible for estate and all machinery maintenance. We'd like you to keep our machinery and vehicles safe and in good working order and to carry out safety checks on our reserves. Each season will bring a new set of tasks and challenges, and you will be working in beautiful surroundings across various reserves.
The role will involve working in a wide range of habitats, including some tough terrain and frequently challenging weather conditions. You will need to have a good attitude towards health and safety and the demands of working in an upland/wetland environment.

Role Description (Primary)

This is a full-time role for a Deputy Construction Department Manager. The Deputy Department Manager will work closely with the Construction Department Manager, Engineering Manager and other engineering disciplines to strengthen the construction team and participate in management reviews and other administrative activities as well as project specific activities such as construction planning and cost estimation, proposal preparation, and manhour planning in the bidding and tendering phase. The Deputy Department Manager will also oversee all administrative functions including department hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, overseas assignment, and organizational changes.

Role Description (Secondary)

Responsible for overseeing all construction activities with respect to schedule, performance, procedure, and making recommendations to Project Managers for improvements and corrective actions in the project execution phase.
