Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor - High-end Residential projects.
Your new company

A successful residential developer working across the UK on high end developments seek an experienced senior QS to join the team. With several new projects starts imminent, almost exclusively for social housing developments. Schemes are geared towards the higher end of the market and tend to be high rise residential blocks, £6 - £60m. Due to a planned expansion within the business, there is now an additional need for a permanent Senior Quantity Surveyor to work closely with the operations director and back office teams. With newly refurbished offices in a central location, a stacked orderbook and stable team, this is an excellent long-term opportunity for any QS looking to work on the more bespoke higher end of the residential sector.

Your new role

As senior Qs, you will be responsible for all commercial decisions across multiple sites. Your duties will include helping price new schemes, authorising payments, measuring/remeasuring works on site, assessing/agreeing variations, mitigating any financial risk, agreeing final accounts and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure the right commercial decisions are being taken for the business.

You will work predominantly in the Sheffield office, 2 days a week, hybrid working, visiting your various sites once a month.

You will be heavily involved in the shaping of the role and your opinion will be actively sought on best practise and alternative processes. This is a key role within the business and one that is expected to grow into a commercial lead in the medium term.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a competent Senior QS with a stable background working within the higher end residential sector. Senior Building Surveyor needed in Bristol, £298 per day PAYE - Reference: RQ1288511

• Contribution to a providing a planned maintenance programme
• Project Management and specification of minor capital projects max £1-2m including seeking planning ( including Listed building consent) and building control consent, awarding and managing build contract.
• Managing responsive and remedial repairs by appointing contractors to undertake minor repairs including specification and seeking consents for repairs if necessary.
• Securing advice, calculation and specification of mechanical and electrical systems for replacement and renewal or supply to new capital project.
• Specification, contract award and management off supply of new M and E systems for new construction.
• Securing appropriate advice and calculation of replacement systems to enable bidding for Public Sector decarbonisation and contribution to Net Zero targets.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.

Our great client is looking to hire a fantastic Senior Residential Property Lawyer or Conveyancer to join their Team in Bristol.

Your new role

This opportunity is excellent for a thoroughly experienced Senior Residential Conveyancer/Solicitor/CILEx Lawyer who is business minded and ready to take on a challenge. This is an important role in the Team as you will be overlooking the output of a sub team of 4-5 staff lawyers.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

• Taking care of a mixed caseload of residential property work mainly shared ownership transactions being purchases, sales, staircasing, lease extensions but including straight transactions mix.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to facilitate smooth property transactions.
• Supervising and controling output of junior members of the team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this exciting opportunity, you will need to have plenty of residential property experience and demonstrable abilities in business development, marketing, and demonstrating the ability to build upon the client base. You will also need to have a proven track record of managing more junior members of a team. This client is quite keen to find someone proactive that will supervise the output of enquiries, report on title, reports on searches of team and actually conduct transactions themselves.
