Key Responsibilities:
Contractual Management:
Lead on contractual obligations and ensure all terms are adhered to, managing all contract documentation and correspondence.
Commercial Awareness & Value Engineering:

Claims Management:
Oversee and manage any claims or variations, negotiating with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve disputes in a timely manner.
Project Cost Control:
Monitor and control project budgets, including preparing cost estimates and final accounts. Although there will be some estimating duties, the role is primarily focused on cost management rather than detailed estimation.
Client Liaison:
Work closely with clients, ensuring communication is maintained throughout the project lifecycle and that the projects are delivered within scope, time, and budget.
Compliance & Risk Management:

Travel Requirements:
While the majority of projects are based within the North West, you will be required to travel occasionally to other locations across the UK, including for site visits and meetings.

Requirements:
Experience:
Significant experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally with a background in main contracting and working on refurbishment and fit-out projects. Experience in the education, healthcare, and public sector is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong commercial and contractual awareness, with the ability to navigate complex contract details, manage claims, and implement value engineering strategies.

Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying is preferred, although not essential if you have proven experience in a similar role.
Driving License:
A full, clean UK driving license is essential for this role, as the role will require occasional travel to various sites.
Location Flexibility:
Based in the Oldham area or nearby, with the ability to travel across the North West and further afield for site visits and client meetings.

Requirements for Project Quantity Surveyor

It is essential that you hold a BSc, NVQ4 or MSc qualification along with a relevant CSCS card. You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to motivate and influence with ease. In addition, you will be a natural problem solver with exceptional commercial acumen and confident decision maker. It is essential that you have a solid understanding of construction techniques and processes, along with an excellent understanding of various forms of Method of Measurement and standard engineering contracts as well as having the appreciation and willingness to adopt Value engineering principles.
