We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Building Control Surveyor to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Building Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for reviewing plans and designs, monitoring progress on-site, and conducting inspections to assess compliance with building legislation. You will be a key player in fostering collaboration with architects, contractors, and developers, providing them with the expertise and support they need throughout the construction lifecycle. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage building control processes from planning through to completion.
Review building plans, ensuring adherence to building regulations and safety standards.
Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with building codes.
Provide expert advice to clients, architects, and contractors regarding regulations and best practices.
Manage a team of surveyors and support their professional development through mentorship.
Prepare and present reports on building control matters to stakeholders and decision-makers.
Collaborate with other departments and agencies to facilitate smooth project approvals.
Requirements
RICS or equivalent professional qualification in Building Control or related field.
Extensive experience in building control or surveying, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and standards.
Proficient in conducting technical assessments and inspections of buildings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex compliance issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 08:30
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Annum: £50,085.00
Location: Bedfordshire, Eastern England
