This role is responsible for ensuring that the CoStar products are representing the most current and accurate information and photographs on Commercial properties and listings through on-site inspections within the assigned geography. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment (Canon R6 and 17-35mm lens or similar, drone where applicable, iPad, laptop, Smartphone, Mobile Wi-Fi and traveling via foot/public transport or hybrid research vehicle when necessary) our Research Photographers canvas the market to identify and capture commercial listings, properties, building attributes, tenants and photographs not represented in the CoStar database. Research Photographers are remotely managed by a Photography Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive or walk assigned submarkets within core territories to collect the required imagery, information and updates – including: identifying new availabilities, missing Inventory, updating construction status, adding up to date high resolution images where required.

• Cross-reference new leads with current information on CoStar database by researching sales and lease comparable data. Once satisfied that the information is new, collect building data and contact information on property and send to in-house Research team

• Photograph and collect building attribute data and contact information on all commercial properties with for lease and for sale signs working in entire assigned territory

• While in front of the targeted property, collect all visible data fields about the property including, but not limited to, the address, building type, # of stories, gross building area, building height, industrial loading information, retail specific details

• Use Adobe software suite to post process digital images

• Create footprint and rooftop geocode for each building using polygon tool in field mapping software

• Associate any assigned tenant locations to polygon, and photograph tenant space

• Follow daily Field Research procedures including:

• Quality communication to your Photography Manager to ensure assignments are efficiently carried and completed within a predefined time frame.

• Accurately logging working time and providing production updates.

• Upload data and images collected on the day the properties are canvassed

• Photograph and collect data on multiple properties per day predefined by your manager

• Visually scan commercial properties in assigned submarket while driving or walking, resulting the target number of potential listings (leasing and/or sale signs) per day when working on lead project

• Professionally communicate with property managers and customers via phone, e-mail, and in person.

• Abide by CoStar safety standards

• Maintain company vehicle and equipment

• Represent CoStar in a professional manner at all times

• Participate in monthly conference calls with sales and research teams

• Represent Research Photography at occasional trade functions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Repetitive and frequent standing, seeing, sitting and walking up to 8 hours per day.

• Holding 2kgs in one hand for 5 minutes.

• Repetitive hand and arm movements needed to type and write.

• Exposed to various weather conditions each day.

• Exposed to both vehicle noise and possible car exhaust fumes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A full local driving license (clean record preferred) is essential.

• Reading/writing proficiency in English and German.

• Technical proficiency in digital photography and post processing via the use of the Adobe suite of products; Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro.

• A willingness to travel to work across the country on special field related projects.

• Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications.

• An existing portfolio of property exterior and interiors imagery.

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.

• Flexible, with the ability to positively adopt new processes.

• The ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts such as commercial real estate terminology and mapping software.

• Ability to work on own initiative and follow CoStar protocols remotely without supervision.

• Comfortable with working alone with daily support via phone and email.

The Opportunity…
The Solution Architect works within an overall team of Solution Architects that cover the broad scope of the Customers business unit and the individual Retail, Energy Business Solutions and Wholesale Market Services business units within it. With a business domain specialism, the Solution Architect will own the technology roadmap for that specialism across Customers, engaging with the business stakeholders to understand strategic intent and be curious on the overall trends of the technology and competitor market to recommend solutions. Product Line Architect – Land Vehicle Mission Systems

Remote – Some travel required

Thales is a world leader in the design and manufacture of products for the worldwide defence, aerospace and security markets.  Land Vehicle Integration and Mission Systems is a key and growing product area for the Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) business line of Thales UK.

We’re recruiting for a Product Line Architect – Land Vehicle Integration/Mission Systems reporting to the OME Technical Director and working closely with the Land Business Director, to provide strategic leadership of our Land Vehicle Integration engineering and technology.

The role will be of interest to professionals with expertise in military land vehicle systems who already work at a strategic level in Industry or the military with a focus on the integration of mission systems onto land vehicles, and the ambition to take on larger strategic responsibilities in that domain. This includes Remote Weapon Stations, Generic Vehicle Networks, Local Situational Awareness, Communication Systems and Platform Survivability.

The Product Line Architect is responsible for the architecture, technical choices & roadmap throughout their lifecycle of the products within the product group.

Key responsibilities:

• Acts as the technical leader for the product group.
• Define & manage all Product Line Engineering (PLE), product variability, and commonality & re-use across the product group & throughout the Product lifecycle.
• Analyses the Product needs/requirements, to define the Product technical solution
• Prepares the technical part of the Product Plan
• Within the product architecture, seeks to maximise re-use of building blocks/technology from other OME UK products, other Thales UK products and products from Thales worldwide.
• Alerts Business Sector Director, PLM and Technical Director when technical issues arise in the product group.
• Works closely with the Design Authorities of bids & projects using Product Line products to detect and mitigate risks of divergence with Product Line technical roadmap.
• Operational needs - working with users (especially UK Army and export customers) to solicit and understand the operational needs for Vehicle systems and link operational needs to the proposed technical solutions in the Technology Plan.
• External funding - identification and pursuit of sources of external technology funding (MoD, DSTL, DASA, Industry, Government) to support activities within the land domain.

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

• Bachelor, Masters or Post-Doctoral Degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc, EngD or PhD) in a mathematical, scientific or engineering subject
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Land Vehicle systems integration - demonstrated capability in current or previous roles.
• Experience developing or integrating Remote Weapon Stations, Platform Survivability, Generic Vehicle Architecture Mission Systems onto Military platforms (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of key trends in land vehicles and the passion to steer the capability in Thales to profitably benefit from these trends
• Business savvy with an entrepreneurial streak when it comes to seeking out and developing new products
