Electrical Design Engineer

Randstad are looking for a full time Electrical Design Engineer to work on school refurbishments across North Tyneside. The right candidate must have over 3 years experience and can work independently on projects. The role is to start immediately for 18-24 months.
Pay is negotiable on the candidate.
Job Responsibilities: - Lead small teams, including consultants and trainees.
- Ensure compliance with statutory duties and contribute to service plans.
- Promote team performance, development, and high standards of customer service.
Design and Project Work:
- Develop conceptual and detailed electrical designs.
- Prepare engineering documents (e.g., drawings, calculations, reports).
- Ensure compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations, and energy efficiency goals.
- Oversee and vet designs from external consultants.
- Support construction processes, including site visits, installation monitoring, and testing.
Administration and Coordination:
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Manage quality assurance activities and prepare tender documentation.
- Lead or assist in projects related to council property investments and energy optimization.
Technology and Innovation:
- Utilize design software (AutoCAD, Revit) and maintain expertise in BIM processes.
- Promote the use of innovative solutions to enhance environmental sustainability.
Qualifications: - Relevant academic/professional qualifications (e.g., BEng/BSc, HND/HNC in Electrical Building Services Engineering).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with AutoDesk Revit and MagiCAD.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Management qualifications.
Special Requirements: - Ability to travel and access construction sites.
- Flexible working arrangements, including occasional evening meetings.
- DBS check required.
