Influences the enhancement of network and communications design and deployment processes, procedures and workflows for the Information Systems department, as the Methodist Medical Group continues to grow. Mentors less experienced team members and provides input on performance evaluations. Leads the team in analyzing issues, identifying root causes, developing and recommending key work products. Delivers technical solutions for clinic network infrastructure, including LAN, voice, WAN and Wireless. Develops, manages and tests disaster recovery solutions. Drives and directs quality work efforts including the complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions. Performs complex and often unique work assignments. Advises management on issues
Your Job Requirements:
• B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience. Advanced experience designing, installing, maintaining and configuring network infrastructure and applications specific to Cisco and service providers such as AT&T.
• CCNA, CCNP required
• CCIE preferred
• Requires an expert level of analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical or administrative problems, to determine economic feasibility or options available, and to assess time involved in system changes. Thorough documentation skills are required.
• Must be able to demonstrate expert level experience with Cisco IOS, AD, DHCP, DNS, FTP, TFTP, SMTP, SNMP, network hardware facilities and experience with system design, capacity planning and capacity management.
• Requires hands-on expertise with Cisco equipment, Citrix, cable infrastructure and WAN circuits.
• Must be able to clearly communicate technical information to leadership and the impact and solutions of application/system problems in business language.
• Requires a professional approach in all situations.
• Must be able to lead teams and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to work any hours to support 24 x 7 operations.
• Must resolve problems entirely by either completing the work or gathering all of the resources needed for ultimate resolution and continuity of problem management.
• Availability to travel between campuses
Your Job Responsibilities:
• Support MMG Growth: Designs and deploys network and voice communications systems following existing best practices and actively communicate changes within the IT infrastructure to all effected parties proactively and in an effective manner. Establish and maintain strict testing and deployment methodologies for IT Operations. Develops and provides statistics on success and impact of changes. Creates, implements and manages activity control matrices for each technology in the Network domain.
• Disaster Recovery/Business Continuation: Design and implement the processes to establish and maintain appropriately available network operations environment with primary focus being on HIM, Finance, HR, Supply Chain and email systems. This includes controlled observation and evaluation of new technologies and methodologies. Schedules tests and documentation revision quarterly. Provides reporting to management.
• Capacity, Configuration and Architecture Management: Develop the roadmap and standards for the MHS Cisco LAN, WAN and Wireless environments. Document all standards and configurations. Responsible for designing and maintaining all MDFs and IDFs. Proactively manage system capacity through the use of monitoring tools and statistical analysis. Generate and manage system life cycle recommendations and funding requests. Train TOC staff to maintain Technical Operations Center support on-site at the Data Center 24X7.
• Availability/Incident Management: Leads the timely resolution of problems on IT Operations network hardware, software and circuits. This includes auditing and maintaining the system operations in accordance with all regulatory requirements with primary focus on confidentiality and HIPAA Security Regulations. This also includes solving issues related to Disaster Recovery, AD, DNS/WINS, DHCP, Cisco IOS, Cisco 1000V and Citrix.
• Priority Management: Must manage many assignments at one time, balancing resources, priorities, deadlines and time. Responsibilities may include acting as team leader, technical lead or both. Requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and groups. Must also be able to work independently. Communicates priorities to the team.
