- Produce briefings, decision memorandums and background papers on a wide variety of issues, problems and matters facing the Indian Affairs organization.
- Serves as a senior contact/focal point for the collection of data and information from the various components of the Bureau organization for projects and assignments.
- Assists with representing the Bureau and other senior staff at a variety of meetings.
- Participates in the performance of special studies of policy and program issues involving issues within the Bureau organization.
- Maintains review and coordination regarding select items of a sensitive policy nature between the Director and high-level officials throughout the Indian Affairs organization.
- Performs in-depth analysis of issues of importance to senior leadership within Indian Affairs.
- Keeps Director informed of day-to-day activities that may develop into problems of a controversial or sensitive nature.
