Mechanical Projects Design Engineer
Location: Stirling, FK7 7QQ.
Salary: Competitive, DOE.
Contract: Full-time, Permanent.
Superglass is a manufacturer of mineral glass wool thermal and acoustic insulation. We have created a brand-new opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team based in the heart of Stirling.
While always prioritising safety, the role will develop, design, manage and execute, from concept through to completion, all aspects of capital investment engineering projects in relation to Plant, Process, Structural or Civil improvements, either as a Direct Project Leader or as a Technical Member within a Project Team(s).
Key Accountabilities:
* Prepare feasibility studies demonstrating viable, practical and cost-effective solutions for engineering and civil improvement projects
* Agree design parameters with stakeholders
* Compile a comprehensive scope of works
* Research and determine applicable Statutory Regulations applicable within the design stages of projects, e.g., design directives/standards, Health & Safety compliance: e.g., Safety of Machinery Standards, CDM Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Building Regulations, Environmental legislation and other relevant key compliance.
* Prepare all necessary documentation, drawings, technical parameters and carry out any site surveys/evaluations necessary for the compiling of tender specifications and quotations.
* Liaise with approved Contractors, OEM's and suppliers
* Compile project proposals with outlined cost budgets, expected lead times, critical execution stages, technical documentation, identified business or compliance risks and prepare visually explanatory presentations for presenting to the Capex management team for approvals.
* Execute approved projects in a timely manner,
* Manage, in conjunction with the site safety team, project specific Contractors and Suppliers during site attendance, to comply with current CDM Regulations 2015 and the Company's safety policies.
* Prepare all final documentation and form training documentation and plans (As Built Drawings, Operational and maintenance manuals, etc.).
* Prepare monthly reports on progress, costs and critical developments for all projects.
What we need from you:
The position would suit an ambitious candidate who will embrace continual improvement challenges and deliver results as a valued member of a multi skilled, technically minded and highly experienced design team. You will have sound engineering education with experience working in industry, have the skills to propose solutions to engineering problems and help find answers to safety matters, working towards delivering the common goal of safe operation with maximum efficiency. You will be qualified engineer with HNC, HND or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or Process Design. You will ideally have a good level of AutoCAD 2D drafting skills with the ability to read and understand technical design drawings and associated technical documentation.
