Duration: Apprenticeship, Part Time

The Modern Apprenticeship Programme is targeted at building our workforce of the future. Funding for training is available for applicants aged 16-19 and 20-24 (depending on the framework) and for disabled and care-experienced applicants between the age of 16-29. The purpose of this role is to deliver a high quality administrative support service to the Registrars team and the citizens of Aberdeen. You will support the administration processes for the registration of births, deaths and marriages within Aberdeen City, as well as taking phone call enquiries from citizens.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages team as Modern Apprentices. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about this vital statutory service.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• Standard Grades National 4 and 5 qualification(s) or
• Relevant work experience

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Self-motivated team player
• Excellent written and numeracy skills

Based within the Enterprise and Communities service you will be working within a multi disciplinary environment, responsible for the provision of the design and contract administration of refurbishment projects within the Housing Property Services team. Due to the geographical spread of the on-site workload, travel throughout North Lanarkshire will be required.

An SVQ Level 3/HNC/ Apprenticeship or equivalent in a Building related discipline is essential. Membership of Institute of Clerk of Works is desirable. Extended relevant experience of site/contractor supervision or Clerk of Works or building trade experience is essential.

You should also be a good communicator with knowledge of current building regulations and Health & Safety legislation. Local Authority experience with experience of refurbishment and large scale investment projects is desirable.

As a Clerk or Works, you may be required to participate in a rota to facilitate the out of hours’ response service during evenings and weekends.

Work Pattern:

35 hours per week: Monday-Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm

Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

• Posting purchase invoices to P2P system
• Processing Payment runs
• Statement reconciliations and supplier queries
• Answering phone calls from suppliers
• Following up with receipting of purchase orders (whereinvoice exists)

You will have:

• A minimum of two years previous AP experience in a similar role.
• Good IT skills, including knowledge of Orcale & Microsoft Office packages.
