We are hiring for a well-established West Cumbria based company which has various small businesses within their portfolio.

The role will report directly to the Chair. The executive director plays an active role as a member of the Board in the running of the company.

Your new job:

In addition to the traditional finance function duties (cash management, liaising with the auditors and the bank and other finance related matters such as budgeting, financial performance, overseeing accounting staff) the role encompasses a variety of other administrative responsibilities:

Human Resources – dealing with staff, issuing contracts, records up to date, awareness of legislation
Understanding of payroll and auto-enrolment requirements
GDPR – awareness of what our responsibilities are and ensuring that they are compliant
Ensure that AML regulations are being met
Overseeing H&S
Insurance renewals (commercial combined, professional, credit)
Agreeing contracts for the supply of equipment/electricity
Oversee the IT function / IT Manager
Manage the Business Risk Register
Acting as Company Secretary

Requirements:

Sound financial background and with experience to oversee the finance and administrative functions within a small but busy company whose business operates in various sectors.

The role will report directly to the Chair and you will play an active role as a member of the Board in the running of the company.

Consideration will be given to anybody who can demonstrate experience to oversee and manage the areas listed above and we are willing to consider either full or part-time.

Benefits:
Salary of around £70,000 is offered (or pro rata if part-time).

The applicant can choose which office to be based from - it is a Hybrid role 3 days in office and 2 days from home (flexible on the days).

There may be an occasional request to travel to another office to take minutes - but practically that will be about once a month. Then standard council expense policy applies e.g. rail/bus travel but also 45p a mile in their own car.

Really do need strong diary management skills - that forms a large part of the role. Then there will be minute taking etc. and the usual PA type skills.
