The purpose of this role is to deliver a high quality administrative support service to the Registrars team and the citizens of Aberdeen. You will support the administration processes for the registration of births, deaths and marriages within Aberdeen City, as well as taking phone call enquiries from citizens.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages team as Modern Apprentices. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about this vital statutory service.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• Standard Grades National 4 and 5 qualification(s) or
• Relevant work experience

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Based within the Enterprise and Communities service you will be working within a multi disciplinary environment, responsible for the provision of the design and contract administration of refurbishment projects within the Housing Property Services team. Due to the geographical spread of the on-site workload, travel throughout North Lanarkshire will be required.

An SVQ Level 3/HNC/ Apprenticeship or equivalent in a Building related discipline is essential. Membership of Institute of Clerk of Works is desirable. Extended relevant experience of site/contractor supervision or Clerk of Works or building trade experience is essential.

You should also be a good communicator with knowledge of current building regulations and Health & Safety legislation. Local Authority experience with experience of refurbishment and large scale investment projects is desirable.

As a Clerk or Works, you may be required to participate in a rota to facilitate the out of hours’ response service during evenings and weekends.

35 hours per week: Monday-Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm

Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

Based in the Civic Centre, Motherwell, you will report to the Tenant Participation Manager and work as part of the Business Engagement Team who work with tenants to encourage their participation and ensure the needs of tenants and local communities are met. You will provide comprehensive administrative support including developing and maintaining information systems, budget administration, arranging and servicing meetings, collating and monitoring statistical returns and producing a range of typed correspondence and reports using a variety of software packages.

With an HNC/SVQ3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, you should be IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft computer packages together with experience of working within a clerical or administrative environment. Excellent organisational and communication skills, both oral and written and a professional manner are essential. Self-motivated, you should have the ability to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Working Pattern -

• Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55 minute unpaid break)
• Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50 minute unpaid break)

Based with Dalziel Building, Motherwell we are looking for a Clerical Officer to receive and process licence applications. The Clerical Officer is responsible for providing business information and support to both internal and external customers in compliance with statutory requirements. This will include liaising with Elected Members, Community Councils, applicants and other relevant stakeholders.

The Clerical Officer will also be responsible for collating reports, preparation of citations for meetings of the Licensing Board and Regulatory Committee. The postholder will deal with all types of licence applications and permissions and will include receiving payments from applicants and licence holders.

You should be educated to standard grade level with moderate experience working in a clerical/admin environment. You will be required to deliver excellent customer service and advice in a professional and polite manner.

You will primarily be based within Motherwell; however, you may be required to work from any Housing Office throughout North Lanarkshire. Working for the Chief Officer(Housing Management), you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of an efficient operational service in all areas of administration, staff training and development, assisting with Housing Locality duties when required.

Responsible for the supervision of clerical staff, delegating workloads and ensuring deadlines are met, you will have excellent organisational skills, be a self-starter and have a flexible approach to work, which includes dealing with customers and a wide range of Council services.

Moderate relevant administrative experience, good keyboard skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience of dealing with the public are essential. You should also have relevant administration experience. Knowledge of Council and Housing services, supervisory skills and customer care training are desirable.
