About the Role:

Stockport Council is seeking a dedicated Personal Adviser to join the Leaving Care Team. This role involves supporting young people aged 16-25 who are, or have been, looked after by the local authority. As a Personal Adviser, you will play a key role in helping care leavers transition to independent adulthood, providing guidance, support, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of young people, ensuring compliance with the Children Act 1989 and Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.
• Develop and implement Pathway Plans, supporting young people in education, training, and independent living.
• Maintain regular contact, conduct assessments, and promote young people's welfare.
• Work closely with partner agencies, including social services, health, housing, education providers, and law enforcement.
• Support young people's financial independence and offer practical guidance on budgeting.
• Participate in duty rotations, team meetings, and continuous training to provide high-quality service.

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant experience with care leavers or young people.
• Knowledge of Leaving Care legislation and child/adult development.
• Strong communication, organizational, and assessment skills.
• NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to drive and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice, support and guidance to young people preparing to leave care. The Personal Advisor will play a key role in supporting young people with their transition to adulthood, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with them to ensure they have positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Meet the responsibilities of the Local Authority for young people 16 years and over who have entitlement under the Children Leaving Care Act (2000)
• Deliver high quality support for young people, managing existing and future risks through Pathway Plan assessments
• Create plans which ensure the individual needs and strengths of young people are appropriately considered

Job role/responsibilities:

Ensure efficient and effective administration of the Constabulary's fleet and the Fleet Management Tranman system.

• Efficient administration of the Fleet Management System, ensuring that comprehensive records for all Constabulary vehicles are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Attend and contribute to daily briefings.
• To run the fleet service scheduling as per agreed procedures and parameters, ensuring vehicles are serviced on time.
• Effectively plan and produce servicing schedules for the Constabulary's fleet, taking operational priorities into account to maximise vehicle availability.
• To ensure all vehicles are serviced in line with manufacturers recommendations and in line with the Police maintenance/service specifications.

• Proficient in MS Office.

• Driving License.

Qualifications:

• N/SVQ Level 2 or above Diploma in Customer Service or equivalent qualification or willingness to work towards within two years.
