As a/an Recapitalization Transaction Specialist, you will:

• Advise and make recommendations on affordable housing transactions to supervisors and managers in the Affordable Housing Transaction Division.
• Actively participate in solving some of the Nation's most complex and plaguing problems associated with public and affordable housing.
• Provide technical support to housing authorities, multifamily owners, as well as HUD field staff with the goal of improving, preserving and repairing assisted rental housing, which may include leveraging improvements in education, health, safety and employment.
• Coordinate, interact and participate in meetings with Office of Recapitalization management, HUD, OMB, and other governmental agencies, both Federal and State, housing finance agencies, Public Housing Authorities, private owners, participating administrative entities, and joint ventures to coordinate and maximize the achievement of the Office of Recapitalization's mission.

As a/an Deputy Housing-FHA Comptroller, you will:

• Ensure that (a) accounting and internal control polices exist and are applied on all operations; (b) accounting control over all Housing-FHA activities is maintained (c) all external and internal financial reports are prepared properly, accurately and timely; (d) debt collection and cash management systems are in compliance with all requirements and (e) financial standards are identified and the Office, or Offices, responsible for systems development, maintenance and operation for all Housing programs receive guidance on needed improvements to satisfy all Federal and management requirements.
• Maintain the FHA general ledger, the chart of accounts, and certain subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements as well as other financial reports and analyses for the Congress, the OMB, other federal agencies and the general public, and internal management reports to various levels of Housing management.

• Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations for acceptance or rejections of architectural processing completed by project sponsor's architect.
• Work with sponsor's architect in preparing contract documents to meet HUD requirements, and assure the final drawings and specifications clearly provide for the best possible facility within the project's construction budget.
• Conduct, or direct the conduct of, investigations of project site to determine (for new construction) feasibility of proposed project; topography; and essential site configuration; or (for additions or renovations) conditions of structure and essential data.
