What You Will Do:

Our finance management consultants help federal clients optimize the operations of their finance organization, including intra-governmental payments and collections, government-wide treasury account symbol reporting, annual financial reporting and helping to meet the ever-changing requirements of federal financial reporting.  This high performing team helps a federal CFO organization identify, design and implement improved processes that transform their finance function and provide lasting change by empowering the federal workforce to sustain improved operations.

This role will be part of a high-performing team helping a DOJ entity identify, design, and implement improved processes that transform their debt collection and reporting functions by providing internal audit, financial analysis, and program operations support. The role entails testing/evaluating management practices and procedures with regards to sound internal controls and recommending process improvements and reviewing records to assure compliance with rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in government accounting and Experience performing examinations and appraisal of financial records, court documents, financial and management reports, management controls, policies, and practices affecting the operating results of an activity, experience reviewing records to assure compliance with rules and regulations.

What You Will Need:

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline

• 6 years of federal accounting-related work experience in government accounting, financial management, or auditing

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• CPA, CGFM, PMP or similar professional certification

• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards

• Experience with Federal Financial Management systems, specifically, CGI Momentum and business intelligence software (i.e., PowerBI, SQL)

• Federal project management experience

• Active Public Trust experience

Your responsibilities:

Day-to-day activities within the scope of accounts payable area, in particular:

• Posting invoices, reviewing missing invoices, sending invoices to approval

• Handle payment reminders and e-mail communication with suppliers

• Assisting in day-to-day administrative tasks in compliance with SSC’s internal procedures and instructions

SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist with the following duties and responsibilities that generally reflect the expectations of this position, but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

• Support SOX documentation projects as assigned to include ad hoc and recurring detail testing, process narrative updates and/or special projects to be determined

• Perform daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly audits of transactions objectively and productively according to department policies and procedures

• Coordinate and communicate with other SOX teammates in order to ensure the standardization of testing and reporting

• Communicate findings of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly audits to the SOX team, identifying trends, issues, and education opportunities

• Plan, schedule, and facilitate meetings and teambuilding activities as necessary

• Respond to customer requests and attend customer meetings in a timely manner

• Identify opportunities to improve SOX testing methodologies and processes

• Report workplace injuries to a member of the management team or People Services immediately

• Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position

• Travel required: up to 25%

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:

  • Work overtime with little or no notice as needed

  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed: cross train within SOX team

  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor in Business (Accounting) completed or in progress required

• Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

• Interest in pursuing a professional certification (CPA/CIA/CFE) preferred

• Prior experience writing reports and correspondence preferred

What You Will Do:

The DoD Audit Remediation and Internal Control Lead helps DoD clients optimize their internal control environment and help solve long standing or emerging challenges. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting audit remediation activities, such as developing/updating process documentation (e.g., narratives and flow charts), and developing/implementing corrective action plans to address findings

• Performing recurring testing, such as testing internal controls, designing and executing Manager’s Internal Controls Programs

• Providing targeted area support based on Component

• Manage and execute work streams

• Review all documentation prepared by more junior personnel

What You Will Need:

• US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET federal security clearance; or higher.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, HR or similar field.

• FOUR (4) years of workforce experience with minimum of THREE (3) years dealing with financial services.
