Consultant in Acute Medicine

We are looking to welcome applications for Consultants to join our dynamic and rapidly evolving team of acute physicians. The post holder will join a team of Acute Physicians and Acute Geriatricians who provide senior clinical leadership and daily ward round on the Acute Medical Units and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)

York Hospital provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. The post holder will take an active role in specialty care of inpatients and will also participate in the General Medicine on call rota at the site. The department is part of a care group wide transformation which has allowed us to develop our Same Day Emergency Care to control assessment of patients and flow into the bed base, working closely with colleagues in Emergency Medicine and General Practice. As a locum consultant in respiratory medicine, you will be applying your skills across both the acute respiratory medicine and general medicine fields to support patient demand throughout the hospital. As Archive Cataloguer you will create a searchable online catalogue of over 120 boxes worth of documentation, organise the digitisation selected items from the archive, making them available online. You will work with internal departments to preserve fragile digital and paper material and with Campaign for Better Transport to communicate the power of the archive to key stakeholders and interested communities.

About you

Joining us, you will have relevant experience with Archives or Records Management and experience handling, storing and documenting archive collections. You will be able to embrace our commitment to making archive collections accessible to diverse audiences.

Crucially, you will be organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively with the ability to complete tasks with accuracy and a good level of attention to detail. You will also be an effective communicator, be able to communicate confidently to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and supervise volunteers.

THE CHEF ROLE
Within your role as Chef, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:

Aid in the preparation of high-quality meals for your residents.
Help the Chef Manager manage the catering team.
Assist the Chef Manager in promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards, carry out risk assessments and ensure the kitchen is cleaned to a high standard,
Responsible for the kitchen and staff in the Chef Manager's absence
Assist the Chef Manager with Menu planning

We want an experienced Chef, who is proactive, passionate, and ambitious to support us to create the best person-centred environment for our residents and ensure they are delivered a 5* food experience.
You will …

Have a friendly and approachable because you will have contact with our residents, their guests and family,
Experience as a chef and working within a catering environment
Valid food hygiene certificate.
A passion for producing high quality food.
Can do attitude!
Be able to take initiative and responsibility


City & Guilds 7061 or NVQ Level 2 in Catering for the Hospitality Industry


Ideally over 3 years’ experience as a Chef or in a similar environment and role
