Role Overview

The primary responsibility of the Fitter is to assemble mechanical products according to drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective product delivery.

Key Responsibilities – Fitter

Fitter with full machine build experience is likely to have used/built/have knowledge of the following: -

• Build to General Arrangement drawings
• Rolling element bearings, shafts (limits and fits)

• Plain bearings
• Linear bearings, rails, shafts, etc.
• Ball screws, lead screws, etc.
• Chain and sprocket drives
• Belt and pulley drive systems
• Pneumatic components and systems
• Sensors – ultrasonic, reflective, laser, etc (mechanical fitment only)
• Motor and gearbox fitting
• Work to budget assembly hours
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, basic machine shop machinery (e.g. lathe, miller, pedestal drill, grinder)
• Keen eye for quality of finished product (painting, powder coating, anodising, phosphating, zinc plating, etc.)
• Ability to use measuring equipment (verniers, slip gauges, micrometers, etc)
• Work within a QMS maintaining relevant documentation & control (following & signing off build sheets, filling out ECR’s, etc)

• Experience in mechanical fitting and assembly with strong communication skills.

As Security Engineer, Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst at Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), you will be responsible for supporting the Cyber Security Manager and the Identity and Access Manager with cybersecurity and IAM operations, continuous service improvement and identity management, protecting the organisation’s cloud technology platforms, data and identities.

The post holder will ensure that best practices for cybersecurity and IAM are implemented and documented, and that the organisation is compliant with regulatory and audit requirements.
Duties include managing the operational security and IAM toolsets including MIMECast, Windows Defender, Symantec WSS, Tenable and Microsoft Office 365 Security and Compliance, Intune and JAMF for MAC security, Entra ID and Okta.

The role will embed regular reporting of the security and IAM performance of the technology infrastructure and report on exceptions or breaches of policies and procedures.
This position will be working with colleagues across the organisation, including an outsourced managed security operations centre and provide cover for the Cyber Security Manager and Identity Manager.

• Work collaboratively within Infrastructure Services and other IT functions to ensure effective management and delivery of Security and Identity and Access Management services.

About the Role

ESPO is responsible for the supply of goods and services to the Consortium Members of Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Leicester City, Lincolnshire, Peterborough City, Warwickshire, Norfolk and other public bodies within the area and nearby. As a means of providing part of the service ESPO maintains a 120,000sq ft warehouse at Grove Park for the storage and distribution of a wide range (approximately 10,000 different items) of educational, stationery, cleaning materials and other goods to schools, offices, homes and other establishments and distributes goods to a planned schedule using a fleet of its own and contractors’ vehicles.

This role is a “Safety Critical Post” and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. If successful in being appointed to the role, you will be required to agree to a planned test and achieve a negative result as part of any conditional offer of employment and/or during your probationary period. Job Purpose

A practical, first line supervisory post, to ensure that associated department workload is completed efficiently and in a timely manner, in accord with current priorities and requirements.

Main Duties

1. Support the section leader in the running of the relevant department
2. Working alongside and supervising a small team (4-8) warehouse staff. Train, monitor, advise and instruct staff as appropriate, to ensure that work is completed to the current requirements and KPIs.
3. Determine appropriate staffing and fork lift truck resource required, and assign work to staff/drivers.
4. Monitor outstanding work to ensure efficient completion at the required levels of performance and against current short-term objectives and plan.
5. Liaise with other sections as required to ensure completion of workloads
6. Receive, prioritise and assign requirements with particular regard to urgent activity
7. Check documentation is completed promptly and correctly and (if not scanned) pass to confirmation staff for processing.

Health and safety

1. Due to the nature of the work within the warehouse, a considerable amount of bending and lifting is required, and in particular for this job where parcels of up to 25kgs are frequently handled.
2. In addition, all employees shall operate with a duty of care and consideration for themselves, other employees and all other users of the warehouse in which both fork lift and other powered trucks are operating.
3. Personal protective equipment, in the form of approved Safety Footwear, and High Visibility jackets/waistcoats must be worn at all times whilst working in the warehouse and service yard.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

1. Have/ be able to obtain current certificate of competence for electric stacker truck.
2. NVQ 2 or equivalent
3. Experience of the picking and packing, and despatch process in a large ‘manual picking’ Distribution Warehouse (picking in excess of 10,000 order lines per day from around 10,000 different products onto 40 delivery lorry loads. Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of appropriate storage and picking processes and awareness of units of stock.
4. Numerate, for accurate reading/writing of numbers, and ability to carry out addition/subtraction efficiently and correctly.
5. Literate, to read paperwork, endorse as appropriate; and write effective labels, etc.
6. Competent keyboard skills, for use or WMS computer system, and general use of Microsoft Office.
7. Competent user (incl. creating and amend) of Excel spreadsheets.
8. Able to motivate staff, as ‘first line supervisor’, to achieve output and KPI results.
