The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction and installation of roofing systems, including framing, sheathing, and the construction of roof structures. The Roofing Carpenter will work closely with project managers, other tradespeople, and clients to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient roofing installations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and construct roof framing and structures, including rafters, trusses, beams, and supports.
• Lay down plywood or other sheathing materials for roofing applications.
• Cut and install roofing materials, such as shingles, tiles, metal panels, and waterproof membranes.
• Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
• Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to project specifications and plans.
• Assist in the installation of skylights, chimneys, and other roof fixtures.
• Inspect and repair damaged or worn roofing systems as required.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors to complete roofing projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials on-site, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
• Communicate with clients and supervisors to provide project updates and resolve issues as they arise.
• Participate in regular safety meetings and adhere to safety procedures on all job sites.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a carpenter, with specific experience in roofing or similar carpentry work.
• Familiarity with various roofing materials, techniques, and industry standards.
• Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans.
• Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment, including saws, hammers, drills, and power tools.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in demanding conditions.

Work Environment:

• Typically outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions.
• May involve working at significant heights or on steep roof pitches.
• Some travel to job sites may be required.
