Responsible for operations and programming of the 67,000 square foot fitness center with an annual patronage of 700,000 people.  Facility is open 24/7 and includes the operation of unmanned hours.  The facility includes a large weight room, classroom, outdoor artificial track, football and score tower, outdoor and indoor strength and conditioning training areas, two basketball courts, four racquetball courts, group exercise room, laundry room, office areas, gear check out and storage areas. The Polytrauma System of Care programs focus on active duty service members who are being treated under the sharing agreement with the Department of Defense, and veterans who are enrolled in the VA.

The PSC care management practice, which includes psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, is focused on helping service members and/or Veterans and their families maximize rehabilitation and treatment potential and achieve more adequate, satisfying, and productive emotional and social functioning.

The PNS team will coordinate the care of returning service members and veterans who have experienced traumatic brain injury. The care may be received at any of the Health Care facilities and Clinic Based Outpatient Clinics {CBOCs} located within VISN 21, including VAPAHCS. Accounts for all property assigned. As required, makes minor repairs to equipment. Establishes a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
• Conducts training programs for assigned personnel in proper performance of their duties, use of efficient work methods and safe practices. Ensures attendance of all staff to required training classes and physicals.
• Assures that safety, fire and housekeeping rules and regulations are followed, and that equipment and tools are property cleaned and maintained.
• Carries out EEO policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates. Assures quality in determining selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, qualifications, discipline and awards to employees. Cooperates and participates fully in the development of an EEO affirmative action plan and its effects regarding staffing, motivation and training to develop all employees. Ensures that minorities and women are considered for training opportunities and are also nominated/appointed to boards and committees.
