Major duties include but are not limited to:

1. Incumbent is responsible for set up of endoscopy equipment according with hospital established SOP's regarding reusable medical equipment (RME) and manufacturer's guidelines, ensuring endoscopes and ancillary equipment functions properly. Prepares for high level disinfection/sterilization all reusable medical equipment and makes the necessary arrangements to have them reprocessed by SPS. Regularly cleans scopes storage cabinets.

The 4B infusion unit is an 8 chair and 3 bed treatment/recovery area within the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, San Antonio, TX at Audie L. Murphy Hospital. 4B Outpatient is a fast- paced unit with a focus of pre/post care of the procedural patient and recovery of outpatient procedural patients.

The 4B Infusion Unit Registered Nurse will primarily work within the outpatient clinic and trained in observation unit care. In this capacity, the RN will administer a variety of intravenous agents to include blood products. The RN will be responsible for routine maintenance of short and long-term intravenous catheters. The Candidates must have the drive and be committed to provide the veterans with efficient, high quality, and safe care in alignment with STVHCS ICARE values.
