Data Governance AnalystRemote with occasional site visits

Here at Serco, we are looking for a Data Governance Analyst who will play a key role in the Data Governance and Management team. You will lead and manage data governance activities across the organisation, helping the business units to improve data quality and managing business critical data assets. You will support in deploying data governance and enhance data maturity of Serco.
In this key role, you will ensure adherence to the enterprise data governance framework, data policies, standards, and processes, in order to achieve the necessary levels of consistency and compliance.
As part of this you’ll:
- Oversee management of Data Governance applications, such as OneTrust or similar.
- Support with data assurance assessments and review of the data governance framework, advising on use of data governance standards, rules, and processes.
- Work alongside business and operational teams and those involved in data improvement initiatives to improve data maturity.
- Support data governance meetings across business areas for onboarding, improvement, and raising the profile of data governance.
- Support members across the Data Governance and Management team in implementing changes within the data catalog and creating updates to data quality rules.
- Support in Data maturity assessments, helping to capture improvement opportunities and forming data remediation plans.
- Support junior members of the team with their development and growth.
- Deliver training on Data Governance and Management to data stewards and owners.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- 5 years’ experience working in Data Governance and Management with a passion and enthusiasm in data governance.
- Good foundational knowledge of Data Governance and Management best practices.
- Ideally a member of a professional body or qualifications in Data Management is desirable.
- Understanding of data governance tools and technology.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance data policies.
- Good stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience of governance tools e.g., Microsoft Purview, and Boomi Enterprise Data Catalog products, Informatica Axon, EDC, IDQ or similar glossary, data lineage and cataloguing tools e.g., Collibra or Alation.
- Experience in working on data governance programme.
- Experience of working within the public sector desirable.
- Good understanding of data governance frameworks and data management concepts such as data cataloguing, business glossaries and data quality measures.
