You will provide advice and support to customers via telephone, email, live chat and face to face on a wide range of council services while delivering exceptional customer service. Taking a “doing with” approach we support people to rebuild, retain or regain their skills and confidence – maximising independence to support a safe discharge home.

Part time permanent contract of 13.5 hours per week – you will be required to work nights on a shift rota basis which will include weekends.

An SVQ level 3 in social care or the willingness to work towards this together with moving and handling training would be desirable.

You must be able to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Care Home Services for older adults and hold or obtain the relevant qualification within the regulatory time scale of three years.

Based in the Facilities Team of Place Services you will be responsible for response led and regular inspections of the Council’s non-housing property portfolio to identify and instruct works to be carried out as a part of planned or responsive repairs and maintenance programmes.

You will issue detailed repair instructions to both relevant contractors, supervise the standard and timely completion of works, and check and agree invoices prior to payment.

You will have the ability to work under pressure on different projects simultaneously and be able to prepare regular progress reports for Coordinators and managers, whilst ensuring regular attendance at premises.

You will respond to emergency requests for necessary ad-hoc repair works and will arrange for appropriate remedial action to be taken. A formal standby scheme is in operation to cover out of hours emergencies and repairs, and the successful applicant will be required to participate in this scheme.
