This role will include supporting our teaching staff to deliver on a daily basis a broad and balanced curriculum for our students both on and off site. Flexibility is key in this role and may include working 1:1 with a student when required, or supporting in class working with a small group. We’re currently looking for a number of Life Preparation & Transition Night Support Workers to assist our students in their homes (on-site) (no personal care responsibilities). The role: As a Night support worker, you will play an important role in our young people’s lives, preparing them for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training, or employment. Following a handover from our day team, you’ll support our students with their evening routine. You will mentor and support our young people in their evening activities, sports, or hobbies both on and off site and ensure they settle for night. This will be with the use of verbal and visual prompting dependent on the need of the young person. You’ll also provide a key liaison point for parents and carers and ensure all health/medical needs are looked after throughout the night. You will be the listening ear and emotional support for young people to talk to after a busy day. The key to this role will be your ability to participate and to motivate whilst ensuring our students develop their own independent living skills. About the Role

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for a Healthcare Assistant who can support in the Wareham area, to support a young female service user in her mid-Teens who has a PEG and requires support with Suctioning and other complex care needs. Our Healthcare Assistant roles are also doubled up as a companionship role by building up key relationships and promoting independence through daily tasks for our service user within her own home environment and especially within the community.

Activities will include playing board games/ puzzles, watching TV, socilising with her friends and family, going for long walks, but most importantly, suggesting new ideas and opportunities that serve the service users' best interests, by going above and beyond. Our Service user wants to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and have a structured routine in order to keep her safe and effective at all times.

She is non-verbal but can communicate through facial expressions and body language through she enjoys and wants to do. You will then need to communicate with her effectively and appropriately, whilst also giving her the opportunity to communicate his needs as well.
