Children and Young People Service are recruiting to two Professional Practice Assistant positions, providing a flexible, high quality, efficient and responsive business support services complying with procedures and practices to support the delivery of front line services; there is an expectation that you will cover front of house at other sites city wide, front of house provide an effective customer focussed service to children, young people their families, carers and professionals.
Post holder based at Kenworthy House will be based on the reception desk; meeting and greeting visitors for services which include West Locality Childcare Teams, Permanence Teams, Leaving Care, Targeted Youth Support, Youth Justice Service, Connexions, PAUSE, RAST, Fostering and Adoption, therefore, resilience is required as you will be dealing with difficult life experienced visitors face to face.
Post holder based at 79 Lowgate will be provide business support for central administration team, processing financial transactions, retrieving paper childcare files from archives locations for information governance and visiting social workers from other local authorities; meeting and greeting visitors.
Both post holder’s role involves answering telephone calls for Childrens Safeguarding which can be difficult and challenging, you to be working within an emotive and demanding working environment. Other tasks include issuing cash payments updating and retrieving information within Liquidlogic along with variety of other administration tasks.
NVQ level 3, working towards a level 3 qualification or equivalent experience of working in a busy demanding environment, good interpersonal and communication skills, proficient in the use of IT, the role can be emotionally demanding, you must be able to maintain confidentiality working within GDP Regulations.
Hybrid working arrangements are in place however you will be expected to work in the office due to the role being reception based.
The positions available are:
Kenworthy House – 18.5 hours permanent Wednesday pm, Thursday, Friday
79 Lowgate – 37 hours fixed term until 31.10.2025 to cover maternity leave
