To support this overarching strategy, TF, in collaboration with ecosystem partners, extends grants to catalyze new innovative education models and platforms, or scale those that have the potential to achieve impact at scale, that are outcomes driven, evidence backed and sustainable.
As part of the Education programmes team, TF is seeking a self-starting and resourceful person who possesses a strong understanding and knowledge of the Education ecosystem in Asia: from its systems, policies, practices and emerging innovations. The person will drive the translation and development of TF’s Education strategy into impact, through strategic development and management of TF’s Education portfolio of programmes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and deepen institutional knowledge of Education, particularly leading global trends and innovations that will advise the development of education-related programmes
• Develop strategies, frameworks, initiatives, and road maps related to Education aligned with the foundation’s charter and goals
• Create a pipeline of programmes that pushes new boundaries to address the future of learning. This includes:
o Identifying opportunities and gaps in the Education landscape.
o Co-creating solutions and co-designing programmes with partners across the Private-Public, People and Philanthropic sectors. This includes Global organisations, Governments, Education Institutions, philanthropic organisations to capture opportunities and meet said gaps, while complementing existing efforts.
o Managing grants and other philanthropic funding mechanisms to ensure funded programmes are on track and achieve their intended impact through monitoring and evaluation.
o Grow and expand network of partners and actively seek strategic opportunities for collaboration.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1) Programme development in Education which includes:
a) Identifying key needs, co-creating programmes, reviewing grant proposals and partnering with potential grantees to design programmes that are deliver impact & create value to communities.
b) Preparation of research briefs, analysis and recommendations to seek Board’s approval for Programmes
c) Maintaining oversight of Programmes which includes monitoring and evaluating of the Programmes milestones, engage partners to ensure programme is on-track, measurement of impact and close-out
d) Convening discussions and leveraging on TF’s network of partners to do so.
2) Collaborate with colleagues in cross-cutting Programme areas to take advantage of opportunities for greater impact.
3) Represent Temasek Foundation at key programme-related external platforms like conferences and meetings in related area of expertise.
4) Up to 20% of time may be allocated to other relevant programmes within the broader TF Programmes team portfolio.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
1) Self-starting and resourceful individual who is able to connect the dots and work effectively across teams to initiate and implement projects. Your ability to work nimbly and engage diverse groups of stakeholders is important.
2) Strong understanding and knowledge of education landscapes, policies, pedagogies, and practices, both regionally and globally.
3) Relevant experience working in education, education technology, artificial intelligence (AI), learning sciences and data science sectors is a bonus.
4) Experience with designing and co-creating education-related programmes in Asia is also an important area we are looking for.
5) Effective communication skills is important. If you can communicate effectively in more than one language, that is a bonus.
