• 15+ years of experience with Naval Operations

• Experience in a training or exercise position performing training analysis on a MOC, other service equivalent, or joint task force (JTF) staff

ROLE SUMMARY

The purpose of the Senior Director of Clinical Research role is to coordinate and lead the development of first in man (FIH), proof of mechanism (POM), proof of clinical activity (SoCA) and proof of concept (PoC) and dose ranging studies for novel biological and small molecule therapies in Neurology focused programs. 

• The Senior Director of Clinical Research will be responsible for the Phase 2, PoM and SoCA trial designs and implementation of the study in collaboration with Pfizer development operations and the project team to meet enrollment and study delivery timelines.  The clinical study lead will be the primary liaison for investigators who have enrollment or extraordinary protocol issues that require escalation and may need to conduct study site visits to ensure timely delivery of the study.
• The individual will be involved with a focus on clinical drug activities from discovery research through PoM, SoCA and PoC studies. They will be a key member on project teams to collaborate with Early Clinical Development (ECD) and ensure seamless transition of the new asset to the Pfizer Global Product Development (GPD) for Ph3 development.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Director of Clinical Research will develop a disease specific global network of potential investigators and key opinion leaders (KoL) for the new therapeutic before PoM, SoCA or POC trial conception to assist in trial design, as well as management and recruitment of study, analysis, interpretation and presentation of results. Design PoM, SoCA or POC studies in consultation with KOLs and Pfizer project team members (Stats, Clin Pharm, Regulatory, Operations, etc.).

• Develop the primary and secondary endpoints for efficacy and safety and contribute to the precision medicine and biomarker strategy as well as to the biostatistics analytic plan that is aligned with the transition target product profile.
• Sit on project teams from FIH/POM/SOCA through POC trial completion to ensure that clinical development strategies are in place, being implemented and are contributing to key development milestones, e.g., start-up and delivery of PoM, SOCA and PoC trials.
   
• Accountable for safety across the study, including regular review of safety data (including but not limited to serious adverse events) and response to safety issues.
• Provide leadership to the clinical function in preparation of critical documents, including but not limited to clinical protocol, clinical development plan, investigator brochure, statistical analysis plan and regulatory documents.

Develop effective collaborations with key PRD partners in design of POC studies and develop target clinical goals to benchmark success of POC and SoCA studies. 

Work on transition team with Late-stage development colleagues to analyze and interpret final POC clinical data in achieving study objectives and develop the phase 3 clinical strategy to support seamless transfer of the asset to the respective Phase3 team.

Establish relationships with external experts, consultants, opinion leaders, regulators and disease specific investigator networks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Requires MD or MD/PhD, neurology specialty required, but other specialists with experience in neurology clinical trials will be considered.

Technical Skills: Experience in generating hypothesis-driven research investigations.

Five or more years of experience in biopharmaceutical sponsored clinical research, with a minimum of two in neurology. Biopharmaceutical experience as a medical monitor and clinical lead across therapeutic areas is desirable.

Good understanding of relevant areas such as biostatistics, regulatory, clinical pharmacology, pre-clinical toxicology, pharmacogenomics and biomarker-based approaches.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets.

Ability to operate with a sense of pace and urgency in matrixed project teams.

Exercises initiative in meeting goals and drives innovation in projects.
 

Demonstrated scientific productivity (publications, abstracts, etc.).

Good communication and presentation skills as well as proven scientific writing skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering.

• 15+ years of CURRENT experience in Petrochemical Process design, optimization and/or operation.

• High level of proficiency in using process design simulation software (i.e. Aspen, PROII, etc.) to develop new or revamp designs.

• Proficiency in conceptual development of process designs, basic economic evaluations, Process Flow Diagrams, equipment capacity evaluation and specification.

• Ability to develop new engineering ideas and concepts.

• Strong English verbal, writing and reading communication skills.

• Ability to clearly convey technical concepts and principles in both verbal and written communications to clients, peers and KBR management. 

• Must be willing and available to travel domestic and international including site base assignment, as needed.

Preferred Education & Skills:

• Design or operations background in Ethylene; experience in other Petrochemical processes.

• Experience in application of advanced process design techniques to develop and optimize process designs.

Key Role:

Lead a team of pricing professionals, build upon and assist with the transformation of the pricing organization, strategically and operationally, to help drive continuing and future growth. Maintain responsibility for pricing and cost estimating for the US government procurements, and act as a lead for providing pricing strategy and business guidance for products and as-a-Service solutions in an emerging business environment. Collaborate with solutions and client service leaders as they develop and manage products, solutions, and associated marketing and sales strategies. Develop and assess pricing and business strategies and lead the development of solution type proposal practices and tools. Assess and recommend strategies in the context of re-seller agreements, teaming and subcontract agreements. Monitor pricing performance for competitiveness and business performance, and escalate problems that may impact competitiveness, performance, or execution. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal clients and colleagues from a variety of functions, including Product or Client Service Team Leaders, Contracts, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, People Services and CTO. Drive the organizational construct and align pricing capabilities to the complexity and priorities of the firm. Maintain responsibility for talent management, development of pricing and cost estimating strategies and ensuring compliance against a client-approved cost estimating system.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with developing competitive price proposals for all US federal government contract types in a professional work environment
• 5+ years of experience working and developing pricing solutions and as-a Service type of contracts
• 5+ years of experience with successfully managing and leading a pricing function of scale with responsibility for recruiting, including developing and retaining professional staff
• Experience with all aspects of price and cost proposal preparation, including business risks, pricing strategies, compliance and estimating practices for the US government and for commercial and international clients and products and solutions
• Experience with selecting and managing complex software pricing tools 
• Experience with developing or delivering price strategy presentations or analyses and training to executives and key decision makers
• Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally within a matrixed environment with senior executives, business development, PTW, contracts, global supply chain, finance, legal, people services, CTO, and other key stakeholders
• Knowledge of system integration and the use of information technology and advanced intelligence systems and tools
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Associate Director, Engineering, Development and Integration - Rahway, NJ:

• Own and manage the product feature through the duration of the product lifecycle.

• Define the overall product feature vision and strategy, with a keen focus on value, business outcomes, and user experience.

• Make product feature decisions, and ensure decisions align with product strategy.

• Develop and regularly calibrate metrics for the product feature.

• Drive continuous product feature discovery to understand user needs and translate that solutions and product feature backlog.

• Set and communicate high-integrity roadmap commitments that have been assessed collaboratively with the delivery squad(s) in terms of value, feasibility, usability, and viability.

• Create, maintain, and continuously prioritize the product feature backlog to maximize value delivery and its long-term sustainability (including stability, compliance and other aspects appropriately).

• Experience owning and delivering digital products; in different delivery methods (agile, traditional) in large organizations; product management techniques such as strategy, road mapping etc.; and aligning the organization and communicating complex technical decisions also required.

• Must have one or more cloud provider certifications.

• Expertise and experience with Python; experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GIT and Jenkins; and Cloud networking capabilities required.

• Must have strong understanding of networking, operating system fundamentals (Windows and Linux), security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.) and strong knowledge of a variety of cloud native services including but not limited to EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, VPC, Route53, CloudWatch, Service Catalog and the management of these services using CLI and SDK.
