The Director of Workforce Strategy and Transformation will play a vital leadership role in supporting the Regional Director of Workforce, Training and Education to deliver on the national and regional WT&E objectives.

The Director of Workforce Strategy and Transformation will be a key member of the South East WT&E leadership team and is responsible for delivering the statutory workforce mandated priorities via the annual and medium-term workforce plans agreed nationally and with each ICB.

They will need to ensure the adherence to budgets set for the regional function as well as for the appropriate allocation and use of the delegated funds.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the teams within the Workforce portfolio; Supply and Innovation, Clinical Professions and Planning and Intelligence.

The Director of Workforce Strategy and Transformation will help to re-shape the workforce landscape in the region, driving forward workforce transformation through working collaboratively with ICBs and Trusts and with other stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally.

The post holder will also need to lead on nationally delegated pieces of work as required.

This is a vital leadership role where the post holder will pro-actively contribute to the delivery of workforce priorities and provide support for local health systems. This role deputises for the RD WT&E in their absence and attends the regional meetings as required.

The Director of Workforce Strategy and Transformation will:
• Lead and manage the Workforce teams in their portfolio
• Work to support the RD WT&E to ensure delivery against key national strategies, such as the NHS Long Term plan, Framework 15, as well as any additional mandates for workforce from government
• Work with other directors and their teams across NHS England both regionally and nationally to deliver on agreed priorities
• Work closely with and lead the workforce teams embedded in ICBs and develop these arrangements with ICBs in the future
• Improve and transform the way that we deliver workforce, training and education across the region, working with the national teams to ensure alignment with central direction
• Ensure effective engagement and communications flows between local, system, regional and national partners

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the directorate pharmacist for Acute Medicine & Rehabilitation (AMR) at Oxford University Hospitals. You will have the opportunity to lead a pharmacy team providing a clinical services to AMR services at the John Radcliffe Hospital site. The post offers you exceptional opportunities to develop a specialist clinical role (to the enhanced care unit) alongside your operational skills, leading pharmacy services to a standalone hospital site.

Being responsible for developing pharmacy services across the AMR directorate which includes Medicine, Stroke, Ambulatory Shortstay, Admissions, Emergency department, Ambulatory and hospital at home. You will lead on the vision and strategy for this directorate, including writing business cases and mentoring junior pharmacists optimising patient flow across both Admissions to medicine will be key to success. You will play a pivotal role in leading the pharmacy team in achieving a number of targets including safety, operational, financial and productivity improvements and will be supported closely by the Divisional Pharmacist.

You will facilitate & support the learning and development your pharmacy team including appraisal, diploma tutoring and pre-registration pharmacist training. Direct Patient Care Deliver compassionate excellence via a patient focused clinical pharmacy service, in accordance with national medicines optimisation principles and local clinical pharmacy procedures. Analyse prescriptions, alongside technical resources, patient records and information from patient consults to form an opinion on the most appropriate course of action. Accurately and sensitively communicate medicines related information to a variety of healthcare professionals and patients including those with language difficulties, physical or mental disabilities, in a way that facilitates shared decision making. Optimise transfer of patient care, though timely completion of medicines reconciliation and communication with GPs and community pharmacy teams. Participate in and promote antimicrobial stewardship, medicines safety, and medicines effectiveness initiatives. Support your teams in developing, implementing and monitoring Medicines Management policies and procedures, including MILs and injectable monographs. Be responsible for the interpretation and dissemination of drug usage and costs data to the directorate to support management of the drug budget. Practicing at a Highly Advanced level in post operative enhanced care, our directorate lead role balances leadership and clinical practice to deliver compassionate excellence. Reporting to the Divisional Lead Pharmacist, they maintain a key relationship between their clinical directorate and the pharmacy directorate to ensure good medicine management and the delivery of patient focussed medicines optimisation. The Directorate Lead Pharmacists act as role models in terms of Trust values and behaviours as well as clinical expertise. The post-holder will lead, develop, deliver, evaluate and be responsible for delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service and medicines optimisation advice to the directorate. The T&O directorate includes Trauma (JR site), Orthopaedics (Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre - NOC site) and Rheumatology (NOC site) and the role includes line management an expanding team of pharmacists responsible for day to day clinical cover for these areas. The post holder will provide operational oversight to pharmacy services on the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre site, and across the T&O directorate as a whole. Work collaboratively with the highly advanced pharmacist for specialist surgery and ophthalmology to support pharmacy service provision to trauma areas on JR site, providing in person support to junior staff working on trauma wards at the JR at least one day per fortnight. • Significant people management experience for teams of 20+ technology professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
• Deep understanding of modern software engineering practices and simulation domains.

• Experience in digital innovation within the fusion sector or similar fields.
• Track record of strategic leadership and establishing broad networks and partnerships.

Head of Directorate Finance - Robotics, Repurposing and Decommissioning

As business partner to the Executive Director and working collaboratively with the senior team and wider finance function, you will support a broad remit including major programmes, developing and implementing commercial strategies and optimising funding for maximum impact in a complex multi-funding environment.

This role is a matrix role within the finance function, reporting jointly to the RRDD Executive Director and the Director of Finance - both of whom are member of the UKAEA Executive Committee (leadership team).

In this role you will:

• Ensure excellence in planning, control and reporting of income and expenditure providing financial management as part of the Directorate senior leadership team, advice and insight, driving financially sound decision making and future planning.
• Ensure the Directorate maximises funding and impact through accurate and taut forecasting.
• Support future strategy developmentthough insightful analysis, modelling and understanding of both the capabilities of the Directorate and the opportunities externally.
• Lead finance aspect of business plans, business case development, commercial and grants bids.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant, with significant post qualification experience in a senior role. Ideally with extensive experience as a business partner, dealing with technical and/or scientific customers.
• Highly motivated with capability to lead & develop direct reports and support overall development of the finance team.
• Ability to establish strong working rapport with internal and external customers representing a variety of professional disciplines.
• Experience of working with and advising programme leadership teams
• Experience in business case development and analysis
• Understand the principles of revenue recognition and accounting for grant funding, appreciation of multi-funding control requirements.
