Our G4S Customer Contact Centre in Wath Upon Dearne provides advice and support to the public on behalf of our clients. We have experienced rapid growth and are now a team of over 2000 people who spend their day helping people.
About the Role
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director to join our business, where you will work with Bid Directors, Bid Writers and Operational teams to develop winning solutions for multi-million pound projects.
Key priorities of the role will be to increase G4S business revenue and growth plans for the Employment Support Services business whilst maintaining the required margins, maximising opportunities with existing contracts, to meet and where possible, exceed the targets set.
As an integral part of the Senior Executive team, you will work with Senior Operational staff to ensure operational and commercially viable bids are presented, which incorporate integrated solutions and implement new initiatives in the service to maintain customer satisfaction and increase profitability.
You will also support the ongoing development of additional contracts for the business and nurture a professional network across operational and business links to maintain the company presence and build relationships to support growth plans.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Be responsible for generating new leads, developing client relationships and subsequent preparation and delivery of both pre-qualification and tender documents.
Lead the business development process, ensuring that all stages of the bid remain on target to deliver expected benefits and report on all updates to the Project Selection Committee/Project Executive.
Meet agreed targets, exploiting opportunities for new business in defined market sectors and negotiating contracts on behalf of the Company with maximum possible margins.
Ensure all bid propositions are recorded in the sales database and maintain data accurately, providing monthly pipeline reports.
Provide market intelligence and monitor competitor activity, in defined market sectors, reporting to the Managing Director.
Compile the bid plan, organising and undertaking the initial bid meeting for bid strategy, agreeing milestone dates as well as agreeing the bid strategy with Bid Managers and other interested parties.
Work closely with the Operations Directors and Heads of Roles, develop and execute a process for establishing and growing innovative solutions adding value and reducing costs, whilst maintaining quality services and enhancing the work winning capability.
Work closely with the Commercial teams ensure that cost data is current, benchmarks are in place and efficiency drives are enhancing the work winning capability.
Develop and support members of the team, ensuring they have the resources to achieve their own objectives and coach and mentor where necessary.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
To be considered for the role of Business Development Director, you will:
Have the ability to develop and implement strategies to improve sales and business growth for the business.
Have a proven track record of working on national strategic infrastructure bids with various government departments, for example the DWP, DfE, MOJ.
Be a strong influencer.
Be commercially astute, with a proven track record in advising on cost effective solutions, key technical delivery both at bidding, implementation and full operational delivery stages.
Have a proven track record in winning new business in the Contact Centre industry of £10m and above.
Have the authority to develop business development plans, goals and objectives across the business.
Be flexible when working within different market sectors.
Desirable Criteria include:
A background within Contact Centres, as well as skills and an understanding of Outsourcing markets, ideally in sectors key to G4S strategy.
A clear understanding of key issues in the outsourcing market.
Knowledge of the bidding requirements for different sectors.
