• As our Director, you’ll set and implement a strategy for managing successful and profitable relationships in the insurance sector in our chosen geographies of UK, Western Europe and Bermuda in conjunction with other key stakeholders

What you'll do

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with knowledge of, and credibility within the insurance sector where life insurance expertise will be preferred. You’ll have good strategic capability and origination experience and a practical understanding of, and application of risk management disciplines.

A strong track record of financing transaction structuring and execution coupled with deep understanding of the insurance sector will be essential.

What you’ll do

You’ll be managing the consumption of resources, including unsecured funding, leverage, RWAs, and risk limits with an idea toward both building portfolio monitoring tools and highlighting opportunities for optimisation and savings, and initiating management actions to hedge capacity constraint

Additionally, you’ll be:

• Understanding the risk run by the desk and managing the measurement and reporting of assets and liabilities against resource budgets, on both a spot and behavioural basis
• Managing the P&L budget for the desk, with a specific focus on P&L measurement, attribution tools, internal charges and cost savings or optimisation
• Preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders and building out the operating model to make sure the portfolio review process is ongoing, providing a clear feedback loop into client planning

This role would be suited to someone with extensive experience, ideally in finance, with a focus on structured transactions and fixed income products, including repo, securities lending, total return swaps, short-term interest rates, FX, credit default swaps, IRS, cross-currency basis swaps, bond borrows and structured notes.

On top of this, you’ll bring an excellent academic background, or equivalent, ideally in a highly quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Finance or Financial Economics or Computing.

You’ll also need:

• Quantitative, analytical and modelling skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel or VBA, and Python or programming proficiency

• Working with Technology, Middle Office, Operations and other key stakeholders to further develop and automate the trade booking and reporting infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and working with relevant teams to resolve issues
• Providing subject matter expert support and innovative solutions to Private Financing Trading with booking model optimisation and trade lifecycle event streamlining
