About the role
• The role will provide leadership, key relationship management and service delivery success in the development and deliverance of Exemplas Innovation services.
• As the nominated Partner Manager for the Innovate UK Business Growth service, you will lead on all aspects of the Grant Funding Agreement, including the core service, international programmes, and related grant management delivery.
• You will lead on budgeting, resourcing, internal KPI management, external impact measures, and data analysis, to drive results, performance excellence, and decision making on the IUK Business Growth service.
• The role will lead and manage a team of approximately 65 staff in the Innovation Services Directorate, covering all aspects of people management activities (recruitment and onboarding, performance management and improvement, absence management, learning and development, coaching and mentoring, wellbeing, etc.).
• As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will demonstrate corporate commitment, providing energy and drive in support of the wider Exemplas strategy and decision making.
• The role will work with the Head of Business Development and the wider business in support of the development of incremental and new innovation funded business, leveraging the track record, capabilities, and expertise within the business.
About you
• Demonstrable track record in managing large complex contracts, with full accountability for all aspects of delivery, performance, and budgetary controls.
• Demonstrable people management skills, providing clarity, motivating, and encouraging others, coaching and mentoring, adaptable communication style, managing conflict, giving feedback, etc.
• Demonstrable experience of operating at a senior management level, influencing and implementing on corporate objectives and commitments, as well as delivering on divisional responsibilities.
• Strong performance mindset to ensure effective and efficient delivery of service contracts, underpinned by data insight.
• Detailed understanding of public sector contracting with an ability to fulfil an ambassadorial role providing strong partnership skills in influencing, negotiating, and networking.
• Demonstrable business development experience, evidencing account managed incremental business wins, as well as converting new business.
• Experience of and working knowledge of HR processes for managing people and teams.
• Natural affinity to innovative tools, social media, and use of IT.
What we offer
This is a full-time role with an expectation of UK, and occasional international travel.
While we operate in a remote first environment, you do need to live within easy commutable distance from our head office in Hatfield or in Melton Mowbray, or elsewhere, as required, where we meet as a team and to collaborate with others across the business.
Our FTE pay range is wide with mid-point for this role of £89,000 pa.
