The candidate will grow, manage and support the ecological team delivering master planning inputs, ecological appraisals, ornithological surveys and studies, other protected species surveys, mitigation design and construction and post-construction supervision and monitoring. Your role

You will have the opportunity to benefit from an exciting and diverse workload, delivering high quality support for private and public-sector clients across the UK including exciting infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Your skills and experience

We would like you to have full membership of CIEEM and have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. You'll need to be an established ecological consultant, have extensive project management experience and have worked in consultancy. You'll be used to leading a team and be great at developing good client relationships to secure repeat business and gain new clients.

Bat or other protected species; ornithological or botanical experience is essential as is the ability to plan and undertake habitat surveys and to identify indicator plant species and habitat types. You'll have full knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques

Join our Oncology R&D team as a Senior Director, Precision Medicine, Antibody Drug Conjugates & Computational Pathology. You will be accountable for ensuring that diagnostic tests or equivalent segmentation tools are delivered to our portfolio of antibody drug conjugate products within Early Oncology. This role is pivotal in leading all aspects of the development of traditional and computational pathology tools for patient segmentation.

Accountabilities:
As a Senior Director, you will provide strategic direction, leadership, and planning. You will ensure the adoption of appropriate traditional pathology and computational pathology diagnostic development strategies within the product teams. You will also provide leadership to the Precision Medicine Leaders leading all aspects of the Antibody Drug Conjugate projects. The NHS is facing significant challenges nationally, with continued long waits in emergency departments, and for outpatient appointments, diagnostics and surgery, in an increasingly financially constrained environment. To address these challenges and opportunities, we will need to make some significant changes to how we deliver care. The Associate Director of Strategy, Transformation and Projects is being introduced in Division D in this context, to ensure that our teams have the capacity and support to drive the ambitious level of change required. Division D is responsible for Neurosciences, EPOV (Ear, Nose and Throat, Head & Neck, Plastics, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular Surgery) and CDG-MODEL (Cardiology, Dermatology, Medical Genetics, Metabolic Medicine, Obesity, Diabetes/Endocrinology and Lipids). Our division delivers around half of the outpatient activity and a third of the surgical activity across the hospital and runs 13 wards.

The NHS is facing significant challenges nationally, with continued long waits in A&E departments, and for outpatient appointments, diagnostics and surgery, in an increasingly financially constrained environment. However, there are also huge opportunities to do things differently: through redesigning pathways of care, effective utilisation of technology, and closer collaboration with our local and regional partners, we could transform how we deliver care.

To address these challenges and opportunities, we will need to make some significant changes to how we deliver care. The Associate Director of Operational Planning and Projects is being introduced in Division D in this context, to ensure that our teams have the capacity and support to drive the ambitious level of change required. Division D is responsible for Neurosciences, EPOV (Ear, Nose and Throat, Head & Neck, Plastics, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular Surgery) and CDG-MODEL (Cardiology, Dermatology, Medical Genetics, Metabolic Medicine, Obesity, Diabetes/Endocrinology and Lipids). Our division delivers around half of the outpatient activity and a third of the surgical activity across the hospital and runs 13 wards.

The Associate Director of Operational Planning and Projects will work alongside divisional colleagues in addition to working collaboratively with corporate team leaders across Strategy, Major Projects, Improvement and Transformation, the Operational Programme Delivery Team and Finance. Under the direction of the Triumvirate this role is expected to lead, support and manage the delivery of complex programmes of work including strategy and analysis, efficiency and productivity, business planning, investment cases, major project business case development, programme initiation and delivery, system and regional engagement to deliver on the latest NHSEI Guidance/NHS LTP for integrated care.

What you will do:

You will be expected to:

• Take a leadership role and drive statistical thinking in cross-functional team projects, within an international environment
• Contribute to strategic planning and quantitative decision making in early clinical development programmes
• Lead the delivery and oversight on drug project(s) and/or studies to time, quality and standards, including partnering with CROs and with Programming
• Participate in applying, adapting and/or developing statistical methodology
• Contribute to development of new procedures and standards to increase quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
  

Depending on your experience, the role may also include:

• Interactions to influence key stakeholders and governance
• Acting as a technical expert in interactions with external providers and collaborators
• Mentoring and coaching junior staff and supporting them with education and training in statistics
• Working with regulatory agencies, e.g. attending meetings, answering questions

Essential in the role:

• MSc/PhD in Statistics or Mathematics (containing a substantial statistical component) with experience in pharma/healthcare or other relevant area
• Knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements related to the role
• Leadership capabilities to be able to lead and direct project work
• Experience of data analysis and interpretation in a relevant area
• Strong knowledge of programming in R and/or SAS
• Excellent written and spoken English. Excellent communication skills (including communicating with non-statisticians) and ability to build strong relationships
• Excellent collaboration skills required - the energy to work across global & functional boundaries, both internally and externally
• Ability to apply statistical expertise to complex problems, problem solving and quality focus

Desirable in the role, dependent on experience:

• Experience of programme and study design
• Experience in the relevant therapeutic area
• Experience of regulatory interactions
