The Chief Circuit Mediator manages the Circuit Mediation Program, which facilitates settlement discussions among parties and their counsel in a wide range of civil appeals. Cases are selected for the program via invitations from the Chief Circuit Mediator, referrals from judges, and requests from parties. Mediators devise a settlement process that meets the needs of the participants by meeting virtually or in-person and facilitating negotiations, managing conflict, and promoting the parties' understanding of the ramifications of litigation. In addition, mediation services are provided to help resolve disputes between employees and employing offices of the courts of the circuit.

Duties of the ICC Chief:

The Associate Chief of Staff for Rehabilitation, Extended Care, and Diagnostics (REC-D) Integrated Clinical Community (ICC) Service provides oversight of clinical and non-clinical staff and operations across a variety of locations including the main medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The incumbent is ultimately responsible for overall REC-D ICC clinical and administrative operations. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Developing strategic plans, policies, procedures, and organizational structures required to fulfill the service line's mission
• Collaborating with clinical and administrative operations and program/section managers to ensure integrated goals and priorities for the ICC are established and met
• Ensuring all residency, intern, and fellowship training program mandates are met in coordination with discipline service chiefs and program coordinators
• Providing leadership, coordination, and direction to the entire REC-D ICC to achieve optimal utilization of available resources
• Responsible for staffing, work assignments, budget, oversight of the clinical services provided, establishing and maintaining service line certifications and audit preparations for the REC-D programs, and oversight of program operations
• Expected Administrative to Clinical time in this role is approximately 50/50
