The University of Central Lancashire wishes to recruit a Finance Operations Manager (Payroll, Pensions & Travel) as part the Financial Operations team in Financial Services. This will be part of the Financial Operations Management team which includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking & Treasury and responsibility for all financial and transactional operations, activities and systems.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of team management and managing workloads, activities and completing tasks to required deadlines. Substantial knowledge and experience of managing multiple payroll and pensions activities and routines is required alongside a detailed knowledge of all current legislation. The role will also manage the coordination of all business travel arrangements for individual, group and complex itineraries including all associated payments and expenses. Candidates should also have experience of working with third party agencies and in-depth knowledge of best practices across the payroll, pensions and travel industries.
This is a varied and exciting role which requires a hands on approach to support all areas of the team and wider Financial Operations objectives. The successful candidate will need to hold the CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management and preferably be AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business or finance field such as Chartered Institute of Credit Management. Candidates will also need to have five GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C/Grade 4 (or equivalent) including English and Maths. A customer service qualification or project management skills are also desirable for this role. Extensive experience and use of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are also required.
Utilising excellent organisational and decision making skills, the successful applicant will be able to multitask, be flexible and adaptable in their approach, be able to work under pressure, use their knowledge and skills to influence, challenge and implement changes and engage with the wide range of internal and external customers using a range of communication skills and approaches. Applicants must be able to promote adherence to controls and compliance in respect of financial policies and procedures.
