As a Logistics Shift Manager, you'll look after the people and processes to make sure that everything, and everyone, works perfectly.

The Cancer Division is a large division with a workforce of approximately 1300 WTE and annual turnover of £240M. The Division delivers world class cancer care to patients from across the country and spans multiple sites and departments across the Trust campus. The cancer division holds operational responsibility for the Macmillan Cancer Centre and Grafton Way Building, including the proton beam centre and is responsible for 185 beds. The Division hosts and plays a leadership role in a number of regional networks including the red cell network and the sarcoma cancer network. The division also includes the cancer clinical trials unit, working closely with both UCL and the BRC to lead on the development and delivery of translational research.

This is an exciting time to join the Cancer Division due to the involvement in a number of high-profile strategic projects including the transfer of paediatric radiotherapy patients from the Marsden and a proposal to create a new Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The Division is also leading on a number of other projects including the relaunch of the Cancer Academy, the development of an oncology acute assessment unit to improve the emergency flow of cancer patients and the expansion of radiotherapy services.

The Cancer Clinical Trials Unit office is based in 250 Euston Rd and comprises of three main areas: Haematology, Oncology and Complex Pathways and it supports activity in the local Clinical Research Facility and the North Thames Local Comprehensive Research Network and Experimental Cancer Centre. Each group is comprised of teams of research nurses, clinical trial practitioners and data managers and provides support to local Investigators wishing to conduct clinical trials and other high quality clinical research projects within UCLH. The Trade Marketing Manager is a vital member of our Trade Marketing team within the wider Commercial Own Brand group, responsible for implementing the TM strategy and securing supplier investment that drives performance across our retail, coffee shops and pubs and bars. You will keep abreast of market dynamics, understand consumer behaviour and build close working relationships with our key supplier partners, as well as possessing the hunger and drive to seek out and negotiate new investment.

Main Duties
Collaborate with the teams of each sales channel to develop Trade Marketing (TM) strategies that align with business objectives

- Nurture and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners, working with them to showcase SSP network, understand Brand Plans, create shared objectives and develop marketing initiatives
- Create Activation Plans, co-ordinate the creation of marketing POS materials and allocations and create unit SharePoint posts for own Supplier campaigns
- Analyse sales data, market trends and keep up to date on competitor activities
- Work closely with each business channel team to implement the Annual Trade Marketing Plan
- Work closely with Purchasing to align on supplier negotiation
- Work closely with Finance to ensure all activity is invoiced in a timely manner
- Track and forecast annual TM income for Suppliers within remit
- Input into annual TM budget development proposal
- Support organisation of annual Supplier Conference to share SSP trading strategy, relationship build and grow TM investment into SSP from our suppliers
- Support and stand-in for Senior Trade Marketing Manager

Knowledge, skills and experience required

- Proven experience in a similar Trade Marketing role including strategy and budget development
- Advanced supplier relationship building and development skills
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Strong all round business acumen and understanding of sales drivers
- Ability to spot opportunities and turn them into profitable activities
- Ability to project manage multiple workstreams and priorities to ensure delivery of the strategy
- Ability to drive decision-making through fact based analysis
- Experience of drawing out business insights from analysis and presenting findings and recommendations persuasive
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally

• Coordination of all aspects of Hospitality and Event Management including catering, staffing and logistics.
