What you will be doing

Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs. These could include mental health conditions such as mood disorders and acute psychosis. Additionally young people may have co-existing additional needs such as neurodevelopmental disorders, including mild learning disabilities or autism. A young person could also be admitted if they have disordered eating.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with several years' experience of working in-house. The ability to get to grips with organisational structures quickly in order to understand risks, what is required and when. Be hands-on with compliance and reporting, as well as providing advisory technical knowledge when needed.

Key Responsibilities Responsible and accountable on a day-to-day basis for information governance work in the Trust. The home has had a 'Good' CQC rating. As Manager you will be directly involved in the day-to-day running of the floor and office of the service so that the unit meets the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act and associated regulations.

You will lead, motivate be supported by a stable team consisting of deputy managers, unit managers , nurses and carers and supported by an experienced operational team


Key Responsibilities:
As the Registered Care Home Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring the service meets the highest standards of care and complies with all regulatory requirements.


Ensuring Safety:

Protect service users from avoidable harm and abuse.
Manage risks associated with mobility, behaviour, and hygiene.
Ensure timely assistance and care to service users.
Oversee medication administration and accurate record-keeping.
Complete safety checks, including fire and health & safety measures.
Manage the DoLS process, including authorizations and mental capacity assessments.
Promoting Effectiveness:

Assess and monitor nutritional needs and access to healthcare services.
Provide mentoring and supervision to care staff, ensuring they have the skills needed for their roles.
Organize access to healthcare services and provide ongoing support.
Fostering a Caring Environment:

Ensure service users and their families are involved in decisions about their care.
Promote dignity and respect, building positive relationships between care staff and service users.
Responsiveness to Service Users:

Regularly assess and update care plans to meet changing needs.
Actively listen to service users' concerns and experiences to drive improvement.
Ensure care is personalized and responsive to individual needs.
Leadership and Management:

Lead regular staff and service user meetings, ensuring all feedback is actioned.
Foster a positive, open culture within the home.
Manage staff recruitment and training, ensuring a well-supported and motivated care team.
Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications: NVQ Level 5, RMA, RMN, or QCF (completed or enrolled).
Experience: Proven track record as a registered manager within a nursing care setting, preferably specializing in elderly and dementia care.
Ideally you will have an NMC PIN but not essential
Knowledge: Strong understanding of CQC regulations and health & social care standards.
Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage both operational and administrative aspects of the home.
