The Post

The Trustees are seeking to appoint an Assistant Head of Year (AHOY) as soon as possible to provide a complementary service to existing teachers and pastoral staff within the School. The post will address the needs of children, supporting them in overcoming barriers to learning and enabling them to achieve their full potential, thereby supporting the School to raise standards of achievement, improvement, attendance and raise standards of behaviour.

The successful candidate needs to be proactive, approachable and a good listener and act as a positive role model to students. Role Overview

You will be responsible for supporting the Service Manager and be the point of contact for the rest of the team when the Service manager is off site. You will be carrying out care needs assessments, creating and maintaining person centred support plans and ensuring high quality support is being provided to each of the people that we support along with the staff teams. Carrying out other duties designated by the Manager which may include delegation of duties to support workers. You will always promote good practice and act as an effective and positive role model. Your working hours will be a mix of on rota and off rota time. During your on rota time, you will be required to work alone with the people you support or as part of a team, and may be required to provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the service.

Key Responsibilities

• You will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of individuals’ support plans, including assessment and relevant risk assessments for new People we support.
• You will encourage the people you support to take an active role in all aspects of daily living, and ensure the appropriate level of individual care and support is identified;
• Manage the review and maintenance of all support plans to ensure the ongoing suitability of the support that is being provided, including daily outings, holidays or recreational pursuits.

Peripatetic Manager

Key Activities:

To act as a peripatetic manager in services that require support. Overall management of services in need and coordination with Service Improvement Managers to improve the service and or meet regulatory/ Contract/ Compliance requirements.
